The degradation performance of aqueous solution of pesticide Alachlor has been studied at solar pilot scale plant in two photocatalytic systems: homogeneous photocatalysis by photo-Fenton and heterogeneous photocatalysis with titanium dioxide. The pilot scale system included of compound parabolic collectors specially designed for solar photocatalytic applications, and installed at University of Baghdad, Department of Environmental Engineering back yard. Moreover, predicting the optimal machining parameters conditions is the preferable method for cost reduction and achieving the desired surface quality of the product. This study investigates three cutting parameters, such as depth of cut, spindle speed, and feed for the milling aluminium alloy AA6061, to predict the surface roughness quality. The experimental work utilized a manual milling machine with a coated carbide cutter. Furthermore, the experiments were arranged using the Taguchi L9 orthogonal array (OA) method. Two feedstocks were studied, viz., dates fruit and dates syrup. The study also covered the effect of the amount of nitric acid and catalyst used in addition to employing two acid concentrations (67 wt.% and 98 wt.% acid). The results showed that when using 67 wt.% nitric acid, dates syrup was best suited as a raw material. And the best amount of nitric acid and V₂O, catalyst were in the ratio of 150 mls: 25 mg per 50 g feedstock. When using 98 wt.% nitric acid, no catalyst was required for the reaction and the reaction proceeded violently with the evolu

The satellite operates on a low earth orbit at circular (500,500) km, and subjected to different torques in space environments. The purpose of this paper is to develop the satellite structure design and test it to obtain the mechanical behaviour of structure. The satellite used so far is spin - stabilized, and rotating about one axis in 3 rpm. A configuration to the structure is suggested to be hexagonal; the dimension of structure is 110cm in diameter and 85cm high. The general static and dynamics tested of the system are verified, and analyzed to find the stress, strain, and vibration on the structure.
The effect of fiber orientation angle of composite materials on the gear tooth root stresses is analytically investigated in order to select the required orientation of the fibers inside the gear tooth. which leads to improve the gear tooth strength. The effect of geometrical parameters (loaded or unloaded pressure angles, number of teeth, radius of fillet and profile correction) and type of fibers glass, graphite and boron) are also studied. A stress analysis using the finite element method is performed for reinforced gear subject to bending loads. The results indicate that there is an effect of the fiber orientation on the root stresses of the gear tooth, and also, there is a direct proportionality between the improving of the gear str

Nitrogen at operation (stagnation) pressure of (1.65Mpa) was used in the study, with three different values of ambient pressure (1.25, 1.52 and 1.75 bar). For all the three values, the nozzle is over expanded. The Mach number at the nozzle exit for all the investigated cases was (2.64). The pressure and Mach number of the atomizing gas at various lattice points downstream of the nozzle exit were found. Besides, the effect of heat transfer from the liquid metal (aluminum) on the gas flow behavior was also investigated, The results showed that the stagnation temperature rise of nitrogen caused by heat transferred from aluminum

The importance of the research derives from the importance of media awareness being an important variable in building the student’s personality. The sample size was (50) students at Al-Kadhimiya Al-Sabahiya Preparatory School for Boys. In this research, a scale was used to measure the role of media awareness in building personality through (16) items on three axes (cognitive, skill, emotional), and the validity and reliability of this scale were extracted, and the results showed the following:
Iraqi siliceous rocks were chosen to be used as raw materials in this study which is concern with the linear shrinkage and their related parameters. They are porcelinite from Safra area (western desert) and Kaolin Duekla, their powders were mixed in certain percentage, to shape compacts and sintered. The study followed with thermal and chemical treatments, which are calcination and acid washing. The effects on final compact properties such as linear shrinkage were studied. The decrease of porosity is resulted from cementation, compaction, and neomorphism. Different types of calcite cement occlude pore spaces such as drusy cement, syntaxial rim cement, and granular (blocky) cement. The neomorphism of micritic matrix and skeletal grains reduces porosity as indicated by development of microspar or pseudospar. Evidence of decreasing porosity by com

Aluminum-Silicon alloys, with soft lubricant metal, are considered to be one of the important tribological alloys which resist seizure. The effect of different lead percentages (1-20%Pb) that added to the modified eutectic Al-12%Si alloy on the wear rate and resistance was studied by sliding these alloys under dry sliding conditions on a carbon steel disc at different sliding distances (2.24-40.37 km). The results showed that the wear rate was decreased and wear resistance increased with increasing lead percentage of Al-12%Si alloy. Furthermore, wear rate was increased linearly with increasing sliding distance.
