Some Durability Test of No-Fine Concrete
...Show More Authors

In this study, two types of mixes were adopted by using two grading of coarse aggregate. The practical side of this study was to produce no-fine aggregate concrete by using crushed clay brick aggregates. The durability of the produced concrete and internal sulfate attack was studied.      For durability assessment, it is found that the no-fine concrete made with crushed brick aggregate lost about (15-25) % of its compressive strength after being subjected to 60 cycles of wetting and drying with age 120 days. The curing condition showed that the water curing improved the compressive strength with a rate higher than that when sealed or air dry curing were used. The crushed brick no-fine concrete de

This research presents a numerical study to simulate the heat transfer by forced convection as a result of fluid flow inside channel’s with one-sided semicircular sections and fully filled with porous media. The study assumes that the fluid were Laminar , Steady , Incompressible and inlet Temperature was less than Isotherm temperature of a Semicircular sections .Finite difference techniques were used to present the governing equations (Momentum, Energy and Continuity). Elliptical Grid is Generated using Poisson’s equations . The Algebraic equations were solved numerically by using (LSOR (.This research studied the effect of changing the channel shapes on fluid flow and heat transfer  in two cases ,the first: cha

The thermal performance of three solar collectors with 3, 6 mm and without perforation absorber plate was assessed experimentally. The experimental tests were implemented in Baghdad during the January and February 2017. Five values of airflow rates range between 0.01 – 0.1 m3/s were used through the test with a constant airflow rate during the test day. The variation of the following parameters air temperature difference, useful energy, absorber plate temperature, and collector efficiency was recorded every 15 minutes. The experimental data reports that the increases  the number of absorber plate perforations with a small diameter is more efficient rather than increasing the hole diameter of the absorber plate with decr

Some enzymes of seminal plasma such as, Glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase, Glutamic Pyruvic transaminase, Acid phosphatase and Alkaline phosphatase are essential for metabolic processes which provide energy for viability, motility and fertility of spermatozoa. These enzymes are used as good indicators of semen quality as they measure the plasma membrane stability of spermatozoa, so the aims of study are to estimate the enzymes level and total protein in seminal plasma of Holstein bulls. In present the available knowledge there is no study in Iraq regarding the effect of using magnetically treated water on enzymes and total protein in seminal plasma of Holstein bulls born in Iraq to improve the Artificial Insemina

Reactive Powder Concrete (RPC) is a type of high-performance concrete that is known for its exceptional strength and durability also RPC is one of the new composite materials that allow for the most efficient use of materials, which benefits the concrete industry economically. Additionally, it improves environmental sensitivity. The main objective of this paper is the determine some characteristics of RPC, such as (compressive strength and fresh density) after exposure to different curing temperatures (60, 120, and 200) oC for 4 hours due two days. The radial mapping version of the bounding surface plasticity model is implemented in a computer program to predict the response of cohesive soils. The eight-noded isoparametric element and Biot’s theory are used in this study for analyzing soil consolidation problems. The model has been used in the analysis for two classes of problems. The first involves the comparison of model predictions with the results of laboratory tests in compression and extension for normally and overconsolidated clays. The second class involves using the model to predict the results of one- and two-dimensional finite element problems of soil consolidation. The comparisons with experiments demonstrate that the model, through its simplicity, can describe realis

SUGGESTED ENERGY EQUIVALENCE APPROACH FOR THE DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF TAPERED CHIMNEYS

In this paper an energy equivalence approach is suggested for the dynamic analysis of tapered chimneys. For any mode of vibration; by equating the kinetic energy of the actual chimney 1o that of an equivalent prismatic chimney, a hypothetical equivalent uniform mass has been obtained for the equivalent chimney. Also, by equating the strain energy of the actual and equivalent prismatic chimney, a hypothetical equivalent constant moment of inertia has been derived for the equivalent chimney .The accuracy of the proposed equivalent prismatic model has been checked by comparing the results with that of the conventional segmented model using the stiffness method, which is deemed to be the more rigorous solution.
