Evaluating Implementation of Electric Power Generation Projects in Iraq
...Show More Authors
Abstract
Iraq has witnessed development in many fields and the electricity production sector is one of the most important of these fields. This is attributed to the State’s philosophy in supporting this sector through the development of economic development projects to serve and raise the level of the Iraqi individual. Electricity production in Iraq is affected by many variables such as load growth, economic and financial conditions, planning, etc. All these led to a disparity in the production of electric power to cover the demand for energy. The paper deals with the electricity generation sector overview in Iraq, Analysis of the effects of variables on the implementation of power generation projects in Iraq, and Creating a mathematical model. The results enable decision-makers to prioritize the implementation of power generation projects in Iraq.

Evaluating the Performance of Sharq Dijila Water Treatment Plant
...Show More Authors

The study aims mainly to evaluate the performance of Sharq Dijila water treatment plant in removing turbidity for the period of 1-4-2001 to 31-3-2004. Daily data for turbidity of raw, clarified, filtered, and supplied water were analyzed. The results of the study showed that there is a wide variation in turbidity levels of raw water fluctuating between 10-1000 NTU with mean value of 41.3 NTU. Turbidity values of the clarified water varied between 1.4-77 NTU. Based on the turbidity value of 10 NTU and 20 NTU (the design maximum turbidity) the readings gave an acceptable percentage of 32.4% and 86% respectively. The turbidity of filtered water ranged between 0.2-4.5 NTU which are completely in compliance with Iraqi and WHO standards. In ac

MANIPULATION OF SOFT POWER IN THE US COMPREHENSIVE STRATEGY TOWARDS FRANCE AFTER 2001
...Show More Authors

Although the events of September 2001 marked the United States' employment of solid forces in its direct comprehensive strategy to counter terrorist organizations and any other challenges to US national security, the United States did not lose sight of the importance of the cultural variable. The cultural variable is the United States' most important instrument of soft power in ensuring its dominance of the international system and promoting its global project. France viewed US soft power as a threat to its own civilizational pattern. Therefore, France considers culture to be an inherent component of its national personality and a cornerstone of its international standing as a major force. Additionally, the US-French political and economic

Oral Biopsy: Evaluating Awareness and Knowledge Among Dental Students at University of Baghdad: Oral Biopsy: Evaluating Awareness and Knowledge Among Dental Students
...Show More Authors

Introduction Oral biopsy is a fundamental diagnostic procedure in dentistry, essential for the early detection of oral cancer and other pathologies. While theoretical knowledge is a core component of dental education, the translation of this knowledge into clinical confidence and practical ability is critical for patient care. Objective: : evaluate the awareness, knowledge, and self-perceived ability to perform oral biopsies Material and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among dental students. Participants (n=110) comprising 14 multiple-choice questions assessing key variables: knowledge of biopsy principles, techniques, lesion identification, specimen preservation, and ability to perform the procedure Results: While theoretica

Evaluating the concentration of cotinine, lead and cadmium in newborns with respsiratory distress syndrome
...Show More Authors

Background Respiratory distress syndrome is one of the most common problems of newborns. Respiratory distress syndrome occurs when there is no enough surfactant in the lungs. Heavy metals are naturally occurring elements that have a high atomic weight and a density at least 5 times greater than that of water. Lead is a heavy metal, it is important environmental toxicant; the toxic effects of lead include many systems in the body like central and peripheral nervous system. Cadmium is heavy metal that exerts toxic effects on the kidney, the skeletal and the respiratory systems, and is classified as a human carcinogen. Nicotine, the main alkaloid of tobacco. It is readily absorbed from tobacco smoke, and its concentration rises over 6-8 hours

Honeywords Generation Technique based on Meerkat Clan Algorithm and WordNet
...Show More Authors

The efficiency of the Honeywords approach has been proven to be a significant tool for boosting password security. The suggested system utilizes the Meerkat Clan Algorithm (MCA) in conjunction with WordNet to produce honeywords, thereby enhancing the level of password security. The technique of generating honeywords involves data sources from WordNet, which contributes to the improvement of authenticity and diversity in the honeywords. The method encompasses a series of consecutive stages, which include the tokenization of passwords, the formation of alphabet tokens using the Meerkat Clan Algorithm (MCA), the handling of digit tokens, the creation of unique character tokens, and the consolidation of honeywords. The optimization of t

Energy Generation from Static Water Head Developed By Forward Osmosis
...Show More Authors

In this work, the possibility of utilizing osmosis phenomenon to produce energy as a type of the renewable energy using Thin Film Composite Ultra Low Pressure membrane TFC-ULP was studied. Where by forward osmosis water passes through the membrane toward the concentrated brine solution, this will lead to raise the head of the high brine solution. This developed static head may be used to produce energy. The aim of the present work is to study the static head developed and the flux on the high brine water solution side when using forward and reverse osmosis membranes for an initial concentration range from 35-300 g/l for each type of membrane used at room temperature and pressure conditions, and finally calculating the maximum possible po

Retina Based Glowworm Swarm Optimization for Random Cryptographic Key Generation
...Show More Authors

The biometric-based keys generation represents the utilization of the extracted features from the human anatomical (physiological) traits like a fingerprint, retina, etc. or behavioral traits like a signature. The retina biometric has inherent robustness, therefore, it is capable of generating random keys with a higher security level compared to the other biometric traits. In this paper, an effective system to generate secure, robust and unique random keys based on retina features has been proposed for cryptographic applications. The retina features are extracted by using the algorithm of glowworm swarm optimization (GSO) that provides promising results through the experiments using the standard retina databases. Additionally, in order t
