The Prevalence of Microorganisms in H1N1 Patients Compared to Seasonal Influenza in a Sample of Iraqi Patients
...Show More Authors

This study provides valuable information on secondary microbial infections in H1N1 patients compared to Seasonal Influenza in Iraqi Patients. Nasopharynx  swabs were collected from  (12 ) patients  infected with Seasonal influenza (11  from Baghdad  and 1 Patient from south of Iraq) ,and ( 22 ) samples from patients with 2009 H1N1 ( 20 from Baghdad and  2 from  south of Iraq). The results show that the patients infected with 2009 H1N1 Virus were younger than healthy subjects and those infected with seasonal influenza. And the difference reached to the level of significance     (p< 0.01) compared with healthy subjects. Two cases infected with 2009 H1N1 virus (9.1%) were from south of the Iraq and remaining 20 cases were from Baghdad . Polymicrobial isolates from nasopharynx swab were observed in patients infected with 2009 H1N1 virus. Polybacterial infections (2-7 microorganisms) and fungal infection were reported in 21 out of 22 patients (95.5%) and 5 out of 22 (22.7 %) respectively. The predominant isolated microorganisms were Streptococcus pyogenes , Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae  were found in 95.2 %  , 95.2 % and 90.5 %  respectively .The results also show  that seven microorganisms were isolated from 10 (47.6 %) patients infected with 2009 H1N1 , no microorganism was isolated from patients infected with seasonal influenza or healthy persons.

In this paper, the complexes of Shiff base of Methyl -6-[2-(diphenylmethylene)amino)-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)acetamido]-2,2-dimethyl-5-oxo-1-thia-4-azabicyclo[3.2.0]heptane-3-carboxylate (L) with Cobalt(II), Nickel(II), Cupper(II) and Zinc(II) have been prepared. The compounds have been characterized by different means such as FT-IR, UV-Vis, magnetic moment, elemental microanalyses (C.H.N), atomic absorption, and molar conductance. It is obvious when looking at the spectral study that the overall complexes obtained as monomeric structure as well as the metals center moieties are two-coordinated with octahedral geometry excepting Co complexes that existed as a tetrahedral geometry. Petroleum is one of the most important substances consumed by man at present times, a major energy source in this century, petroleum oils can cause environmental pollution during various stages of production, transportation, refining and use, petroleum hydrocarbons pollutions ranging from soil, ground water to marine environment, become an inevitable problem in the modern life, current study focused on bioremediation process of hydrocarbons contaminants that remaining in the bottom of gas cylinders and discharged to the soil. Twenty-four bacterial isolates were isolated from contaminated soils all of them gram negative bacteria, bacterial isolates screening to investigate the ability of biodegradation of hydrocarbons, these isolates inocula

Building Operational Sequence and Control of Fire Tube Boilers Using Ladder Logic with Zeliosoft Smart Relay
...Show More Authors

This research is a case study to solve control problems in Al Rasheed edible oil factory fire tube boilers. they have hopes to develop a new control system to manage boilers operation. The suggestion is to use Zelio soft programmable relays instead of the unavailable old control units. Operation philosophy was studied through works of literature, operation manuals, and standards. Programmable logic control relay is proposed as an advanced selection than PLC's. Boilers operation is accompanied by operation risks. many boilers were exploded in Iraq for different reasons. Some problems are attributed to manual operation mistakes. Extensive work was done to understand the operation sequence, emergency shutdown, and faults causing the trips. A c

Laser Enhanced Photocatalyic Degradation of Methylene blue using Nanostructured ZnO Catalyst based on Interfacial Charge Transfer
...Show More Authors

In this research, annealed nanostructured ZnO catalyst water putrefaction system was built using sun light and different wavelength lasers as stimulating light sources to enhance photocatalytic degradation activity of methylene blue (MB) dye as a model based on interfacial charges transfer. The structural, crystallite size, morphological, particle size, optical properties and degradation ability of annealed nanostructured ZnO were characterized by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and UV-VIS Spectrometer, respectively. XRD results demonstrated a pure crystalline hexagonal wurtzite with crystalline size equal to 23 nm. From AFM results, the average particle size was 79.25nm. All MB samples and MB with annealed nanostr

The nuclear matter density distributions, elastic electron scattering charge formfactors and root-mean square (rms) proton, charge, neutron and matter radii arestudied for neutron-rich 6,8He and 19C nuclei and proton-rich 8B and 17Ne nuclei. Thelocal scale transformation (LST) are used to improve the performance radial wavefunction of harmonic-oscillator wave function in order to generate the long tailbehavior appeared in matter density distribution at high . A good agreement resultsare obtained for aforementioned quantities in the used model.

Effect of Nd-YAG, XeCl, and Nitrogen Laser Radiation on Human Aorta , and Some Arterial Tissues
...Show More Authors

The effect of laser radiation on human aorta, coronary, and pulmonary arteries, and pulmonary veins has been investigated. Xenon-Chloride (eximer), Nitrogen, and Nd-YAG pulsed lasers of wavelengths 308, 337, and 1060 nm respectively were used. Their effects on fresh postmortem tissues, normal and diseased, was studied. The diameter and depth of ablation of the exposed tissues, in air, were measured as a function of many factors related to the type of laser and nature of the tissue. The effect of properties of the applied lasers, such as average power density and deposited energy density, on the exposed tissue surface were studied. The increase of these two parameters cause an increase in the depth and diameter of ablation. However the di

Spectral and Electrical Characteristics of Nanostructured NiO/TiO 2 Heterojunction Fabricated by DC Reactive Magnetron Sputtering
...Show More Authors

In this work, p-n junctions were fabricated from highly-pure nanostructured NiO and TiO2 thin films deposited on glass substrates by dc reactive magnetron sputtering technique. The structural characterization showed that the prepared multilayer NiO/TiO2 thin film structures were highly pure as no traces for other compounds than NiO and TiO2 were observed. It was found that the absorption of NiO-on-TiO2 structure is higher than that of the TiO2-on-NiO. Also, the NiO/TiO2 heterojunctions exhibit typical electrical characteristics, higher ideality factor and better spectral responsivity when compared to those fabricated from the same materials by the same technique and with larger particle size and lower structural purity.
