The Impact of Partial Solar Eclipse on the Observation of Neutral Hydrogen Emission Line
...Show More Authors

The research involves examining the influence of partial solar eclipse on the strength of neutral hydrogen from the Sun. Baghdad University Radio Telescope (BURT) was used to monitor the partial solar eclipse on the 25th of October, 2022. Radio observations from the Sun were recorded from 11:30 AM to 03:36 PM. This means that the HI emission from the Sun was recorded before, during and after the event. It was noticed, that at the moment of maximum eclipse, ~ 46% of the Sun’s disk was covered by the Moon. For the purpose of this research, the solar radio wave intensity was monitored and the solar flux density was determined at different times, i.e. before, during and after the partial solar eclipse. The obtained results showed that both of the solar flux and power spectrum decrease with the progress of the eclipse until the moment of maximum eclipse, i.e. the moment at which the minimum values of solar flux density and antenna temperature were recorded (7 × 104 Jy and ~ 80 K). Then, at the last moments of the partial eclipse, it was noticed that both parameters started to increase again due to the decrease in the area of the Sun’s disk until both reached their normal values. In Conclusion, the partial solar eclipse affects the strength of neutral hydrogen from the Sun because the Moon blocks the neutral hydrogen from the Sun during the solar eclipse.

The Impact of the Real Estate Tax in Maximizing Tax Revenues : applied research
...Show More Authors

Tax revenues are considered one of the important sources of public revenues for the state as one of the tributaries that finance the public treasury to implement development plans. Real estate taxes are one of the sources of obtaining tax revenues in the state, as it follows that there are a number of factors that affect these revenues, which requires the development of necessary solutions and recommendations to address the resulting effects. Accordingly, this research sheds light on tax revenues in general and real estate tax revenues in particular to indicate the extent of their contribution to the total tax proceeds, as the tax proceeds of the real estate tax were analyzed into the total tax proceeds for the years (2017-2021). A numbe

Finite element analysis of class II mandibular unilateral distal extension partial dentures
...Show More Authors

The current paper aims to investigate the stress distribution developed in Kennedy Class II mandibular distal extension removable partial dentures due to applying a unilateral load condition in both vertical and lateral oblique directions. 3D models of mandible bone and RPD framework were first built based on actual patient data and later exported to ANSYS software to implement the numerical analysis. For realistic analysis, the model considered the frictional contact between the RPD retainers with the teeth and mucosa with the resin denture base by applying the feature of small sliding. To ensure maximum longevity and suitability of restoration, two different metallic RPDs constructed from commercially pure titanium (CP Ti) and cob

Comparison of Some Semi-parametric Methods in Partial Linear Single-Index Model
...Show More Authors

The research dealt with a comparative study between some semi-parametric estimation methods to the Partial linear Single Index Model using simulation. There are two approaches to model estimation two-stage procedure and MADE to estimate this model. Simulations were used to study the finite sample performance of estimating methods based on different Single Index models, error variances, and different sample sizes , and the mean average squared errors were used as a comparison criterion between the methods were used. The results showed a preference for the two-stage procedure depending on all the cases that were used

A method of multi-dimensional variable selection for additive partial linear models.
...Show More Authors

In high-dimensional semiparametric regression, balancing accuracy and interpretability often requires combining dimension reduction with variable selection. This study intro- duces two novel methods for dimension reduction in additive partial linear models: (i) minimum average variance estimation (MAVE) combined with the adaptive least abso- lute shrinkage and selection operator (MAVE-ALASSO) and (ii) MAVE with smoothly clipped absolute deviation (MAVE-SCAD). These methods leverage the flexibility of MAVE for sufficient dimension reduction while incorporating adaptive penalties to en- sure sparse and interpretable models. The performance of both methods is evaluated through simulations using the mean squared error and variable selection cri

Structural Behavior of Reinforced Concrete Hollow Beams under Partial Uniformly Distributed Load
...Show More Authors

A Longitudinal opening is used to construct hollow core beam is a cast in site or precast or pre stressed concrete member with continuous voids provided to reduce weight, cost and, as a side benefit, to use for concealed electrical or mechanical runs. Primarily is used as floor beams or roof deck systems. This study investigate the behavior of six beams (solid or with opening) of dimension (length 1000 x height 180 x width120mm) simply support under partial uniformly distributed load, four of these beam contain long opening of varied section (40x40mm) or (80x40mm). The effect of vertical steel reinforcing, opening size and orientations are investigated to evaluate the response of beams. The experimental behavior based on load-deflection

Producing Load Bearing Block Using LECA as Partial Replacement of Coarse Aggregate
...Show More Authors

The ability to produce load-bearing masonry units adopting ACI 211.1 mix design using (1:3.2:2.5) as (cement: fine aggregate: coarse aggregate) with slump range (25-50mm) which can conform (dimension, absorption, and compressive strength) within IQS 1077/1987 requirements type A was our main goal of the study. The ability to use low cement content (300 kg/m3) to handle our market price products since the most consumption in wall construction for low-cost buildings was encouraging. The use of (10 and 20%) of LECA as partial volume replacement of coarse aggregate to reduce the huge weight of masonry blocks can also be recommended. The types of production of the load-bearing masonry units were A and B for (
