The radio anatomical arrangement of nerve roots at L3 level in cauda equina sac is it affected by diseases?
...Show More Authors

An observational study to discover the common conditions affecting the lumbosacral region that may affect lumbosacral position and tension. All the patients, underwent MRI exaamination (magnetic resonance imaging) in the supine position, were examined by the same consultant radiologist. The article was revised by the institutional ethical approval committee. The position of the nerve roots was observed, and the number of nerve roots was calculated anterior to a line passing between the mid-transvers process of L3(third lumbar vertebra). The number of nerve roots ahead of this line was calculated by the radiologist at the level of the right intervertebral foramen and at the left one. This procedure was applied to the normal group, an

Anatomical differences of Cerebellar vermismeasurement values in healthy adult men andwomen using MRI images

Background: e cerebellum is divided into two hemispheres and contains a narrow midline zone called thevermis. A set of large folds are conventionally used to divide the overall structure into ten smaller "lobules". evermis receives fibres from the trunk and proximal portions of limbs, But the question is that does the cerebellum have the same measurementvalues in males and females of the same age?Material and method: e present study used 80 sectional brain MRI images (40: males, 40: females); 35-50 years old as indices of size for thevermian structures of the Cerebellum. is middle age group was taken because as known generally it could be neither an age of growth as inthe young nor of atrophy as in old individuals. e aim rega

Electron Microscope Study of Human Cerebral Cortex (Left Superior Temporal Gyrus), in Different Age Groups and Gender Electron Microscope Study of Human Cerebral Cortex (Left Superior Temporal Gyrus), in Different Age Groups and Gender
...Show More Authors

Human cerebral cortex is the outer folded neuronal layer and represents major part of the cerebrum with enormous functions. It is a laminar structure, easily visualized grossly. Previous studies showed that the Superior Temporal gyrus is one of the thickest cerebral cortex regions, reaching (about 4 mm). The Electron microscope study was made on 6 samples taken to measure the neuronal soma dimension of the large pyramidal cells present in the internal pyramidal cortical layer V in different age groups and gender. Aging process was obvious on the large pyramidal cells of the cerebral cortex, in which their neuronal soma dimensions showed shrinkage with age progression. But statistically there was no differences in the values between males an

ultrasonographical and Doppler study of. human placenta at different age groups
...Show More Authors

To study the site of placentae and the umbilical artery blood flow of different age groupsand relate that to the newborn baby and the mother. 117 placentae samples were investigatedusing ultrasound and 30 placentae samples were studied using Doppler ultrasound during theperiod from August 2007 to August 2008 for full term placentae of mothers aged 15- > 45 yearsold. By ultrasound; there was detection of good pe rcentage of the placental site to be on theposterior wall of the uterus in case of male babies, while it was anterior in case of female babiesand it was previa and fundal in females more than in the males. The Doppler ultrasound revealedthat the mother in any age group can conceive and have a healthy placenta because the readings ina

Methods: 112 placentae samples were investigated during the period from August 2007 to August 2008 under light microscopefor mother aged 15 - 45 years old. Results: It was found that normal placental shapes had no correlation to mother age, while abnormal shapes were found more inyoung age groups. The better placental measured parameters were found in mother age 20-24 years. The percentages ofabnormal umbilical cord insertion were very high compared to other studies. Babies’ gender had a correlation with theplacental thickness; male babies have thicker placentae than females. Male babies have longer umbilical cords with widerdiameter than females. Light microscope picture showed the chorionic villi with isolated fetal blood vessel were hig
