Summary
I am an engineering geologist involved in the investigation and management of geological hazards and the geotechnical properties of clayey soils. I obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Engineering Geology from the University of Portsmouth in 2018. My research at the University of Portsmouth delved into the intricate connections between stratigraphy and the weakness features of reworked soil making a contribution to the understanding of weathering factors affecting construction, and infrastructure.
Qualifications
- PhD in Engineering geology University of Portsmouth (UK)
- MSc Engineering geology University of Baghdad (Iraq)
- GPROF - University APEX Foundation Pathway University of Portsmouth
Awards and Memberships
- European Geosciences Union (EGU)
- British Society for Geomorphology (BSG)
- British Geotechnical Association (BGA)
Research Interests
- Regional modeling of geotechnical properties and landslides: Research into the 2D and 3D nature of geotechnical properties of sediments, correlations with stratigraphy and landslide susceptibility.
- Remote Measurement of Soil Behaviour: Investigating how UV/NIR sensing technology can be used to determine soil properties (mineralogy, particle size, clay content, moisture content).
