An oil spillage has been a great threat to human life in parts of Koya district, especially through the contamination of domestic water. An attempt was made to find and map the extent of pollution in the area. According to a field survey, more than 17 springs and 34 hand-dug and artesian wells have been contaminated with crude oil. The contamination was recorded recently after loading began of tens of oil tankers in the Taq-Taq oil field, and as a result hundred barrels of oil have spilled into the creeks and soil daily. In this paper, the single scatter model for gamma backscatter densitometer has been used to investigate the materials of Halley’s nucleus. Monte Carlo simulation tool is used for the evaluation and calibration of gamma backscatter densitometer; and also used to calculate the bulk density. A set of parameters effecting detected count rate of γ – ray backscattering, mainly the source energy, the source – detector separation (sonde length), density and composition, were calculated.
Results obtained with the present method are compared with experimental data and the computed data may be considered entirely satisfactory.

This research focuses on the removal and adsorption of Fe (III) ion using a low cost commercial polyacrylic acid hydrogel beads as adsorbent. The effects of time, initial concentration and pH on the metal ion adsorption capacity were investigated. The regeneration of the hydrogel bead and recovery of the metal ion adsorbed were study. The adsorption isotherm models were applied on experimental data and it is shown that the Langmuir model was the best one for Fe (III) ion removal. The maximum capacity was calculated. First-order and second- order kinetic models were used and it is shown that the experimental data was in reliable compliance with the first- order model with R2 value of (0.9935, 0.9011, 0.9695, 0.9912) for all concentrations

Methotrexate (MTX), a folate antagonist agent, is mainly used in treatment of
malignant tumors and autoimmune diseases. The present study was undertaken to
determine whether antioxidant vitamin (vitamin A) could ameliorate methotrexateinduced
oxidative stress in male rabbits. Twenty male rabbits were randomly
assigned into four groups. Group 1: control group, Group 2: MTX-treated group
(received 20 mg/kg MTX intraperitoneally), Group 3: Vit.A treated group received
5000 IU Vit.A orally) and Group 4: MTX+Vit.A treated group received MTX 20

The research included studying a group of eight cuneiform texts dating back to the Old Babylonian era, specifically to the reign of King Larsa Rim-Sin, which were identified through studying the historical versions of these texts. These texts are confiscated, i.e. texts of unknown location, because they did not come through excavations, but rather came to the Iraqi Museum either by people who obtained them through digging, or stolen and smuggled texts that are retrieved by the General Authority for Antiquities; as is the case with our texts that were found smuggled to Jordan and were retrieved by the General Authority for Antiquities.

Membrane manufacturing system was operated using dry/wet phase inversion process. A sample of hollow fiber membrane was prepared using (17% wt PVC) polyvinyl chloride as membrane material and N, N Dimethylacetamide (DMAC) as solvent in the first run and the second run was made using (DMAC/Acetone) of ratio 3.4 w/w. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to predict the structure and dimensions of hollow fiber membranes prepared. Exploratory activities carried out by oil companies in the latter half of the past
century proved the existence of voluminous reserve of oil and gas in the
southwestern area of Iraq. In view of this, it seemed more than prudent to add a new
knowledge to that currently existing about the subsurface lithostratigraphy of this
area. As a first step in fulfilling this mission, this paper will attempt to do so by
covering the time interval from the Upper Cretaceous to the Neogene. In turn, this
effort had entailed both the description of about 4707 metres of fully recovered

The acute toxicity effects of (2,4-D) pesticide to the common carp and grass carp was determined through 24, 48, 72 and 96 hr. Group of eight Common carp (Cyprinus carpio L., 1758; Pisces, Cyprinidae) and group of eight of grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) were exposed to the 2,4-d. Lethal concentration (LC50) was determined with probit analysis. The median lethal concentration (LC50) values for common and grass carp were (157.77, 157.25, 156.41 and 152.62) and (115.92, 114.92, 112.94 and 96.52) respectively. Behavioral changes of the above mentioned species were examined for various herbicide concentrations.
