Evaluation of IL-18 Level and its Gene Polymorphism in a Sample of COVID-19 Patients
...Show More Authors

SARS CoV-2 is a virus that causes serious respiratory issues and invades the pulmonary tissue, triggering a widespread immune response through cytokine production. Interleukin-18 plays an important role in regulating both innate and adaptive immunity against immune-related diseases and infections. The study aimed to assess the IL-18 levels among individuals with COVID-19 and its relationship to the rs1834481C>G SNP in the IL-18 gene. Forty unvaccinated severe COVID-19 patients of both sexes were diagnosed with severe COVID-19 using RT-PCR and by medical professionals in the ICU at the Baghdad Hospital. Blood from patients and the control group was collected, and the serum IL-18 level was measured using an ELISA assay. In addition

Social Work and Facing Child Poverty in Iraq: A Comparative Study between Governmental Social Work Institutions and Non-Governmental Institutions
...Show More Authors

Social work is a profession to help individuals, families, and communities to promote the well-being of the human and society, and this goal is achieved through social and economic justice while enhancing the quality of life of human and community. The study illustrates the importance of promoting integration with governmental and civil social work institutions to achieve the reduction of multidimensional child poverty. The descriptive and comparative approach as well as the social survey was used in this study. Collected data from 50 governmental and non-governmental institutions, where the study reached several conclusions, the most important of which is that social work institutions have an important and effective role in confron

The Effect of Viscous Dissipation and Joule Heating on Poiseuille Flow of Hyperbolic Tangent Fluid
...Show More Authors

In this paper, we showed the computer solutions for the Flow of Poiseuille of (MHD) hyperbolic tangent impossible-to-compress fluid Amid a pair of parallel slabs that are sloped at an angle utilizing a uniformly porous medium. Heat transfer attempts and slip boundary conditions are taken into account. In the energy equation, radiation, joule heating, and viscous dissipation are also accounted for. It is presented in a cartesian coordinate system that supplies the model of the governing equations of the hyperbolic tangent fluid flow. The equations of velocity and Temperature are solved numerically by using "ND solver built". The effects of different factors such that Hartmann number, Darcy number, slip parameter, Grashof number, Bri
