AGE AND GENDER IMPACT ON GLYCAEMIC CONTROL, RENAL FUNCTION AND OXIDATIVE STRESS PARAMETERS IN IRAQI PATIENTS TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS
...Show More Authors

Type 2 daibetes mellitus (T2DM) is a global concern boosted by both population growth and ageing, the majority of affected people are aged between (40- 59 year). The objective of this research was to estimate the impact of age and gender on glycaemic control parameters: Fasting blood glucose (FBC), glycated hemoglobin (HbA1C), insulin, insulin resistance (IR) and insulin sensitivity (IS), renal function parameters: urea, creatinine and oxidative stress parameters: total antioxidant capacity (TAC) and reactive oxygen species (ROS). Eighty-one random samples of T2DM patients (35 men and 46 women) were included in this study, their average age was 52.75±9.63 year. Current study found that FBG, HbA1C and IR were highly significant (P<0.01) increased by increasing age. The lowest level of FBG was in the age group 30-39 years, which was a high significant (P<0.01) lower than other age groups 40-49, 50-59 and ³ 60 years. The highest level of HbA1C was in advanced age group ³ 60years, which was significantly (P<0.01) highest than other groups 30-39, 40-49 and 50-59 years. The highest level of IR was in the older age group ³ 60 years, which was significantly (P<0.01) highest than other age groups 30-39, 40-49 and 50-59 years. Insulin hormone level showed no significant (P>0.05) differences between age groups. Insulin sensitivity decreased in older age group ³ 60years compared with the other age groups with a highly significant differences. The results shows a highly significant (P<0.01) increasing in levels of urea and creatinine with increasing age. The lowest level of urea was found in 30- 39 and 40-49 year compared with other age groups, highest levels of creatinine were in 50-59 and ³ 60 age groups, which were significantly (P<0.01) highest than 30-39, 40-49 years age groups. In present study, the levels of TAC decreased by age. Third age group 50-59 showed the lowest level of TAC, which was significantly (P<0.05) lower than other age groups 30-39, 40-49 and ³ 60 years. Statistical analysis showed that the level of ROS was significantly (P<0.05) increased in advanced age groups 50- 59 and ³ 60years compared with other age groups 30-39 and 40-49 years. Statistical analysis revealed a significant (P<0.05) increased in levels of FBG in women compared with men, while insignificant differences (P>0.05) found in the HbA1c and insulin levels. A highly significant (P<0.01) increased in IR value was also found in women compared with men. Also, statistical analysis show that IS value was significantly decrease in women compared with men. The statistical analysis showed a nonsignificant differences for increasing levels of urea in women compared to men, while current finding showed a highly significant (P<0.01) increase in creatinine levels in men as compared with women. The present study showed insignificant increasing in the mean of TAC in men compared to women. While, the mean of ROS was significantly (P<0.05) increase in women compared to men.

The level of Mental Mindfulness of College of Education Students at Umm Al-Qura University in the light of Corona Pandemic
...Show More Authors

The aim of this research is to identify the level of mental mindfulness among female students of the College of Education at Umm Al-Qura University, as well as to identify the statistically significant differences in the level of mental mindfulness according to academic level, specialization, and academic achievement. A mental mindfulness scale was designed to cover five dimensions. The study employed the analytic descriptive approach applied to a random sample of (217) female students from various academic specializations. The findings indicated that the level of mental mindfulness was average among female students. Statistically significant differences were attributable to the academic level, academic specializations, and academic achi

Whatever the designers of the advertisement in choosing the text and spoken phrases, those phrases cannot give or convey the full meaning to the recipient only if this spoken and written language is reinforced with another language based on the signals, movements, and symbols that are displayed using the body or other artistic elements of the advertisement such as pictures, colors, music, effects, and other elements used in the artistic construction of television advertising. All these artistic elements contribute to the completion of the advertising idea and make it ready to be displayed to the public.

Scientists and researchers, in the field of psychology, have relied a lot on this language (body language). And some of them put

Background A prospective clinical study was
performed to compare the efficacy of the use of lowmolecular-
weight heparin group (enoxparin group)
with control group in the prevention of deep-vein
thrombosis after total knee arthroplasty.
Aim of the study: to assess the prevalence of DVT
after total knee arthroplasty and evaluate the
importance of the use of low molecular weight
heparin in the prevention of this DVT.
Methods Thirty-three patients undergoing total
knee arthroplasty were randomly divided into two
groups. One group consisted of 12 patients who
received no prophylaxis with an anticoagulant (the
control group), other group consisted of 21 patients
who received the low-molecular-weight h

Abstract  Lanɡauaɡes, like humans, need communication and interaction to prosper. One of the ways for a language to flourish is to borrow words from other languages. The southern regions of Iran and the coastal countries of Persian Gulf have had strong cultural relations since old times, with language being a dimension of these relations. With their land being geographically located in the realm of Islamic civilization and being Muslims,  Baloch people have had strong connections with the Arab world and the Arabic language. Thus, many Arabic words have made their ways into Balochi language either directly or indirectly through persian language. Since each language has its own unique sound structure, these loanwords have undergone ph

Performance of concrete thrust block at several burial conditions under the influence of thrust forces generated in the water distribution networks
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>This study was prepared to investigate the performance and behavior of concrete thrust blocks supporting pipe fittings. In the water distribution networks, it is always necessary to change the path of the pipes at different degrees or to create new branches. In these regions, an unbalanced force called the thrust force is generated. In order to counter this force, these regions are supported with concrete blocks. In this article, the system components (soil, pipe with its bend and thrust blocks) have been numerically modeled and simulated by the ABAQUS CAE/2019 software program in order to study the behavior and stability of the thrust block with different burial conditions (several b</p> ...
