Abstract

Indeed, being busy with the understanding of religion is the best sort of worship that the almighty God has given each period of time a number of scholars and wise men. They receive what has been passed down to them from their great ancestors, and those who are willing to learn will learn, their students preserve their knowledge through teaching and writing. Thus, the scholars were pioneers in this field due to the value and importance of their knowledge. They have strived in learning, explaining, and writing new subjects.

this paper consists of three sections, Section one deals with the most important difficulties and characteristics of English subordinate clauses whereas section two tackles the difficulties faced by the Iraqi EFL students at the third year in the Department of English, College of languages, University of Baghdad in recognizing and producing the subordinate clauses submitting them to a test consisting of two questions (recognition and production). Finally, some pedagogical recommendation of the findings can be found in section four.

Objectives: To assess general social factors for elderly in geriatric homes in Jordan.
Methodology: The study was conducted for clients residing in elderly homes. A purposive sample of (155)
residents were selected. Social resource scale by (Duck University Center) called (OARA) older adult resources
and services was used as tool for data collection. The questions extract data about family structure, patterns of
friends and visiting, availability of a confident, satisfaction with the degree of social interaction and availability

However, foreign language learners, particularly Arabic speakers, may face complex aspects that hinder their understanding and correct use of sentences. Additionally, there are at least two linguistic approaches that describe the use of compound sentences: one considers the sentence as the basic unit for discourse analysis, while other studies, starting with Van Dijk (2003), emphasize the importance of understanding both the partial and holistic structure of discourse. Therefore, we consider the significance of reviewing the linguistic differences between the native language and Spanish as a potential cause of misunderstanding a
