Investigating the Electrochemical Properties of Alkaloids Compound Derived from Catharanthus Roseus Extract
...Show More Authors

The Catharanthus roseus plant was extracted and converted to nanoparticles in this work. The Soxhlet method was used to extract alkaloid compounds from the Catharanthus roseus plant and converted them to the nanoscale. Chitosan polymer was used as a linking material and converted to Chitosan nanoparticles (CSNPs). The extracted alkaloids were linked with Chitosan nanoparticles by maleic anhydride to get the final product (CSNPs-Linker-alkaloids). The pure Chitosan, Chitosan nanoparticles, and CSNPs-Linker-alkaloids were characterized by X-ray diffractometer, and Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy. X-ray results show that all samples have an orthorhombic structure with crystallite size in nanodimensions. FTIR spectra prove that the P=O is the cross-linkage between chitosan and phosphate groups by ionic bond, which indicate that the Chitosan nanoparticle has been formed in the solution. FTIR spectrum for CSNPs - Linker - alkaloids appear a new distinct band at 1708.93 cm-1 which demonstrates the presence of C = O esterification. Atomic Force Microscope images of the Chitosan nanoparticles and CSNPs-Linker-alkaloids show that they have almost spherical shapes with average sizes of 90 and 92.6 nm respectively. The electroactive surface area of glassy carbon electrodes (GCE), extract plant, and Linker-alkaloids were calculated in KCl solution containing K3[Fe (CN)6]. The presence of CSNPs-Linker-alkaloids in modified glassy carbon electrodes about 3 times. The successful synthesis of organic nanoparticles from the Catharanthus roseus plant can be used safely in biosensors, environmental monitoring, and biomedical applications.

Investigating the Causes of Poor Cost Control in Iraqi Construction Projects
...Show More Authors

Controlling cost in construction projects is an essential issue. This study investigates the most critical problems that cause weakness in cost control in Iraqi construction projects. The quantitative technique was used by conducting a survey directed to professionals who work on construction projects. One hundred and sixty-four questionnaire forms were distributed to private sector companies, government companies, and government institutions, and the responses were subjected to the required statistical analysis. The results indicate that the most influential factors are the weakness in keeping up with the use of modern concepts, methods, and technologies, the delay in receiving the amounts due for work done from the owner, fluctuat

Investigating the optical and electrical characteristics of As60Cu40-xSex thin films
...Show More Authors

In this work, As60Cu40-xSex thin films were synthesized, and the pulsed laser deposition method was used to study the effected partial replacement of copper with selenium. The electrical characteristics and optical characteristics, as indicated by the absorbance and transmittance as a function of wavelength were calculated. Additionally, the energy gap was computed. The electrical conductivity of the DC in the various conduction zones was calculated by measuring the current and voltage as a function of temperature. Additionally, the mathematical equations are used to compute the energy constants, electron hopping distance, tail width, pre-exponential factor, and density of the energy states in variation zones (densities of the energ

Emissions Investigating of Carbon Dioxide Generated by the Iraqi Cement Industry
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>The most used material in the world after water is concrete, which depends mainly on its manufacture of cement leading to the emission of carbon dioxide (CO2), flying dust, and other greenhouse gasses (GHGs) resulting in pollution of the atmosphere. The emission of CO2 from cement production is approximately 5% of the global anthropogenic CO2. This research focuses on investigating the amount of CO2 emission from the Iraqi General Cement Company plants includes the cement factories of Kirkuk, Al-Qa’em, Fallujah, and Kubaisa, using the GHGs Protocol Measures Program (specifically cement based-method).</p> ... Amoxicillin 1 was treated with thiosemicarbazide and Phosphoryl chloride to obtain a new derivatives that contains 1,3,4-thiadiazole moiety 2. Schiff bases compounds were synthesized by the reaction of compound 2 with different aldehydes such as benzaldehyde and some substituted Benzaldehyde; p-hydroy, p-Chloro, p-Nitro, p-Dimethylamino, p-Methyl, p-Methoxy, p-Ethoxy to give compounds 3a-h. The obtained compounds have tested towards gram -ve and gram +ve bacteria. The compound shows good to moderate result towards the bacteria.
