THE ENHANCEMENT OF DROUGHT TOLERANCE FOR PLANT ONION (ALLIUM CEPA L.) INOCULATED BY ARBUSCULAR MYCORRHIZAL FUNGI

The current study was aimed to examine the effects of two types of Arbuscular mycorrhizal Fungi (F. mosseae, C. etunicatum) on the onion plant under two water conditions (normal irrigation and drought treatment). This study has aspects related to improve tolerance of an onion plant (Allium cepa L.) to water stress situations with taking in consideration regulate physiological Growth Parameters PGP of plant and biochemical [fungal root colonization, dry weight of mycorrhizal roots, Spore density of AM fungi, Relative water content, proline content, total carotenoids, Soluble protein content and Phosphorous application] in the existence or lack of AMF. The results indicate that the drought dealing producing increase of spore density of AM fungi, proline content, total carotenoids and soluble protein content except Fugal root colonization, plant root dry weight, Relative water content and Phosphorous uptake which were increased when associating with normal irrigation. The plants inoculated by each F. mosseae, C. etunicatum was noted a significant differences (P < 0.05) increase in some PGP comparing with uninoculated. The highest values of PGP were recorded when onion plant inoculated by two types of AMF. Normal irrigation was showed less enhancement of plants compared with plants that obtained drought stress. The inoculcation by both types of AMF resulted in increasing in an onion plant uptake and protection against drought stress, while the case of relative water content showed relatively similar values in both conditions comparing with non- AMF onion plant.

Determination the optimum orbit for low Earth satellites by changing the eccentricity

Abstract<p>The main objective of this paper is to determine an acceptable value of eccentricity for the satellites in a Low Earth Orbit LEO that are affected by drag perturbation only. The method of converting the orbital elements into state vectors was presented.     The environmental contamination by the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and heavy metals (Pb, Cu, Ni, Cr, and Cd) concentrations in the leaves of plant Eucalyptus camaldulensis were determined at the city of Kirkuk in 15 selected locations using GPS. The pickings up of samples were carried out in two periods October 2010 and March 2011. Compared with results of other studies, the concentration levels of determined heavy metals show values within these studies results. The average total concentration of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the leaves of Plant Eucalyptus camaldulensis indicated 37.1 ppb in October, while in March 165.2 ppb.

Efficiency of plant extracts on Aspergillus growth and aflatoxin B1 production in Zea mays

The detection of fungi contaminating maize grain and the effect of four plant extracts Azadirachta indica, Eucalyptus globulus Glycyrrhiza glabra and Zingiber officinale on the growth of A. flavus and its ability to produce AflatoxinB1. The results showed that the incidence of Aspergillus spp., was 52.75% of the isolated fungi, of which 29.50% was due to Aspergillus flavus, followed by Penicillium spp., with an incidence of 21.06%, and then Fusarium spp., with a rate of 18.13%.
