This paper is a review of the genus Sitta in Iraq, Five species of this genus are recognized
Sitta kurdistanica, S. neumayr, S. europaea, S.dresseri and S. tephronota. Geographical
distribution and systematic nots were given for separation and identification, also some notes
on nest building and nest sites of S. tephronota supporting by figures are presented.

The pioneer contributions included a sign for Iraqi Bryoflora were those of (Juratzka &
Milde) and Schiffner published at the end of the 19th century i.e. (1870 & 1897) respectively.
However, throughout the whole next century, the 20th, only few papers, by different authors,
have been published separately. They are Schiffner (1913); Handel-Mazzetti (1914); Froelich
(1959); Vondracek (1962 & 1965); Agnew &Townsend (1970); Agnew ( 1973 ) ; Agnew&
Vondracek (1975); Long (1979); Al-Ni’ma (1994). The most comprehensive work among
them was the “Moss Flora of Iraq” by Agnew & Vondracek (1975). It included a description
of 54 genera and 145 species with an identification key in addition to notes

The research used a four-stroke diesel engine to investigate the effect of different glycol contamination levels (0, 120, and 220 ppm) under two engine loads (4.5 and 9 kW). Fourier Transform-Infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy was used to analyze gasoline engine oil (SAE 5W20) samples that were exposed to seven different oxidation times (0 h, 24 h, 48 h, 72 h, 96 h, 120 h, and 144 h) to determine the best wavenumbers and wavenumber ranges for the discrimination of the oxidation times. The thermal oxidation process generated oil samples with varying total base number (TBN) levels. Each wavenumber (400–3900 cm−1) and wavenumber ranges identified from the literature and this study were statistically analyzed to determine which wavenumbers and wavenumber ranges could discriminate among all oxidation times. Linear regression was used with the best wavenumbers and wavenumber ranges to predict oxidation time.
