Evaluating the Friction Characteristics of Pavement Surface for Major Arterial Road
...Show More Authors

The performance of the pavement in terms of vehicle safety and tire wear is affected by the friction behavior of the pavement. To highlight the main characteristics that affect the production of better friction resistance of the pavement surface in this work. The micro-texture and macro-texture of the asphalt surface of Baghdad Airport highway were studied using two methods: (sand patch method and the British pendulum test). The sand patch was examined by drawing sand grains of a specific volume, while the micro-texture was analyzed using a BPT under dry and wet surface conditions. All data obtained from the two examinations were analyzed and modelled statistically using SPSS 25 software. Results show that skid resistance of pavement surface increase with the increase of MTD, this increase may be due to the increase of coarse aggregate which lead to increase the roughness of the pavement surface, this increase ranged between (96 - 91%). MTD decreases with the increase of traffic flow due to the friction between the road surface and the vehicle tires leading to increase of smoothness of the road surface. This is mean that MTD is highly affected by the traffic flow and this effectiveness ranged between (84-97%). Skid resistance also is highly affected by the traffic flow with an effectiveness ranged between (81-94%) for both pavement conditions. According to the regression analysis for friction and other parameters, it can be concluded that surface friction values are highly affected by cumulative traffic (asphalt mix deterioration) over time. Doi: 10.28991/cej-2021-03091775 Full Text: PDF

Characteristics of Traffic Accidents in Baghdad
...Show More Authors

Road traffic accidents (RTAs) are events that suddenly, inadvertently and unexpectedly occur under unforeseen circumstances that involve at least one moving vehicle and result in one or more road users being killed or injured. Unfortunately, Iraqi governorates suffer from higher rates of traffic accident casualties compared with the rates of casualties from terrorist attacks; this situation reveals a serious and growing problem. Road traffic accidents are not easy to eradicate. However, their prevalence can be reduced to the barest minimum via periodic assessments of traffic accident characteristics and the most important aspects for road authorities to consider when designing and evaluating the performance of a road to improve traf

The Role of Personality Characteristics of the Leader in Business Organizations Entrepreneurship (Field Research)
...Show More Authors

This research is aiming to find the effective role of the personality characteristics of the Leader in business organization entrepreneurship by studying the effect of the special dimensions of personality characteristics (neuroticism, extraversion, openness, Agreeableness, and conscientiousness) on business organizations entrepreneurship dimensions representing in the two main dimensions (entrepreneurship direction and strategic entrepreneurship) across field study was conducted in thirteen private colleges in Baghdad.

The problem of the research relies in asking the question, is there an effect for Leader personality characteristics on business organizations entrepreneurship. and statistical methods hav

Improvement of the Solubility and Dissolution Characteristics of Risperidone via Nanosuspension Formulations
...Show More Authors

Risperidone is an atypical antipsychotic drug that is used for treating schizophrenia, bipolar mania, and autism. Risperidone rebalances dopamine and serotonin to improve thinking, mood, and behavior by working on dopamine and serotonin α2receptor antagonism. Risperidone has poor solubility and high permeability through the intestine, so it belongs to Biopharmaceutical Classification System (BCS) class II exhibits poor oral biopharmaceutical properties.

The aim of the present work was to improve solubility and dissolution of Risperidone by preparing nanosuspension using different stabilizers and different solvents‎ in a method known as solvent-antisolvent precipitation method. Twenty-eight formulas were prepared

Characteristics of probing electrons behavior inside the chamber of scanning electron microscope
...Show More Authors
Abstract
The electron mirror phenomenon has been explored to describe the behavior of a probing electron trajectory inside the chamber of scanning electron microscope (SEM). This investigation has been carried out by means of the modulated mirror plot curve technique. This method is based on expanding sample potential to a multipolar form to detect the actual distribution of the trapped charges. Actually an experimental result is used to guiding results of this work toward the accurate side. Results have shown that the influence of each type of multipolar arrangement (monopole, dipole, quadruple, octopole … etc.) mainly depends on the driving potential.

Large Angle Bending Behavior of Curved Members Using The Method of Characteristics
...Show More Authors

This paper deals with the nonlinear large-angle bending dynamic analysis of curved beams which investigated by modeling wave’s transmission along curved members. The approach depends on the wave propagation in one-dimensional structural element using the method of characteristics. The method of characteristics (MOC) is found to be a suitable method for idealizing the wave propagation inside structural systems. Timoshenko’s beam theory, which includes transverse shear deformation and rotary inertia effects, is adopted in the analysis. Only geometrical non-linearity is considered in this study and the material is assumed to be linearly elastic. Different boundary conditions and loading cases are examined.

Employing the results of evaluating employees'performance in achieving organizational integrity Field study at the Technical Institute in Mosul
...Show More Authors

The objective of the study is to study how to employ performance evaluation in achieving organizational integrity and the impact of performance evaluation on achieving organizational integrity. In light of this, the following questions were raised:

Are the dimensions of organizational integrity available in the field in question?

In order to answer the research questions, a questionnaire questionnaire was distributed to the sample of 30 members of the teaching staff at the Technical Institute in Mosul. The three-dimensional Lycert scale was used. The statistical methods were used, ie, the frequency distribution, the computational circles, the standard deviations, Pearson), simple

Studying the Effect of Magnesium Oxide Nanoparticles Prepared on the Surface of Poly Methyl Methacrylate
...Show More Authors

In this paper, magnesium oxide nanoparticles (MgO NPS) have been prepared and characterized and its concentration effect has been studied on polymers surface (MgO NPS). The results showed that the degradation of poly methyl methacrylate increased when using such metal oxide. The results also showed that the metal oxide increased the degradation of poly methyl methacrylate. X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy were used to study the morphological characteristics and size of nano MgO particles analysis. Films were prepared by mixing the different masses of MgO NPS (0.025, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2 and 0.4) % with a polymer solution ratio (W/V) 7 %. Evaluating the Inhibitory Activity of Apigenin Extracted from Salvia officinalis leaves on the Growth of L20B Cancer Cell Line
...Show More Authors

The study aimed to evaluating the inhibitory activity of apigenin extracted from Salvia officinalis leaves on the growth of L20B cancer cell in vitro, and through two incubation periods; 48 and 72 hours. Accordingly, eight concentrations (1.56, 3.13, 6.25, 12.5, 25.0, 50.0, 100.0 and 200.0 micromol) of apigenin and similar concentrations of vitamin C and carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) were tested. The apigenin revealed its significant inhibitory potentials against the growth of L20B cell line, especially at the low concentrations (1.56, 3.13 and 6.25 micromol) and at 72 incubation period in comparison with vitamin C and CCl4.
