This study was carried out to investigate the effect of dietary supplementation with different levels of parsley on semen quality of local Iraqi ganders. A total of thirty-two local ganders were used in this study during the period from the beginning of February to the end of April. The ganders were allocated for 4 treatment groups containing 8 ganders each. The treatment groups were as follows: Control diet (free from parsley); T1: Control diet + 80 g/d parsley; T2: Control diet + 160 g/d parsley; T3: Control diet + 240 g/d parsley. Semen samples were collected twice a week, fortnightly, from each gander by the dorsal-abdominal message method. The first semen collection was used to evaluate semen volume, sperm concentration, live in total sperm, live and normal morphology sperm, semen quality factor, sperm motility, abnormal sperm, acrosomal abnormalities, spermatocrit, and pH of semen However, the second semen collection was used to determine seminal plasma concentrations of glucose, protein, cholesterol, and other activities of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) enzymes. Results revealed that feeding diets containing different levels of parsley (T1, T2, and T3) resulted in a significant (P<0.05) increase in semen volume, sperm concentration, live and normal morphology sperm, semen quality factor, sperm motility, spermatocrit, and seminal plasma activity of the ALP enzyme, and a significant (P< 0.05) decrease in abnormal sperm and acrosomal abnormalities, seminal plasma concentrations of glucose, protein, and cholesterol, and seminal plasma activities of the AST and ALT enzymes as compared with the control group. There was no significant difference in the pH of semen among the control and experimental groups (C, T1, T2, and T3). Additionally, adding different amounts of parsley to the diet, especially 240 g/d (T3), led to big improvements in the characteristics of the sperm. So, parsley can be used as an effective tool to improve the semen quality of ganders.
Experimental model was done for pile model of L / D = 25 installed into a laminar shear box contains different saturation soil densities (loose and dense sand) to evaluate the variation of pore water pressure before and after apply seismic loading. Two pore water pressure transducers placed at position near the middle and bottom of pile model to evaluate the pore water pressure during pullout tests. Seismic loading applied by uniaxial shaking table device, while the pullout tests were conducted through pullout device. The results of changing pore water pressure showed that the variation of pore water pressure near the bottom of pile is more than variation near the middle of pile in all tests. The variation of pore water

Materials and methods: Injectable thermoplastic acrylic resin (Deflex) and heat cure acrylic (Procryla) were used in this study to produce forty-disc shaped specimens, 20 specimens for each material type. The control group was made up of ten samples of each type of plastic denture base material. The other ten samples were treated with a nano-pulse fiber-optic lens Nd:YAG laser. The results were looked at with the Kruskal-Wallis test and the unpaired t-test (a=.05). Results: Compared to the control groups, the laser-treated groups were more likely to sti

Show MoreThis study was aimed to study the effect of adding transglutaminase (TGase) on the mechanical and reservation properties of the edible films manufactured from soybean meal protein isolate (SPI) and whey protein isolate(WPI). The results showed an improvement in the properties with increase in the WPI ratios. Thickness of the SPI films amounted 0.097 mm decreased to 0.096 mm for the WPI: SPI films at a ratio of 2:1, when TGase was added decreased to 0.075 mm. While the tensile strength increased from 7.64 MPa for SPI films to eight MPa for the WPI: SPI films at a ratio of 2:1, when TGase was added increased to 11.04 MPa. Also, the elongation of the WPI: SPI films at a ratio of 2:1 presence of the TGase decreased to 40.6% compared wit

The current study, which extended from February 2020 to June 2021 at the University of Thi- Qar\ College of Education for Pure Sciences, aimed to follow the changes in external morphological features at different Embryonic Developmental stages in pregnant mice treated with different doses of Rapamycin (Rapa). Use In this study, 32 pregnant mice were divided randomly into four groups, each of which had eight pregnant mice. Each group received different dose of Rapa via intraperitoneally injection at different gestation days until the end of the specified periods, whereas the control group received a DMSO. Mice were administered under the same circumstances and dosages were determined based on body weight, as specified in pharmaceutical const

weathering test was carried out to find the effect of the environment conditions on the mechanical properties of
HDPE/LLDPE blends with different weight percents (0, 15, 30, and 45 %) relative to the LLDPE by increasing the
exposure times to (100, 150, 200, 250, 300) hr.
A series of tests (destructive), tensile, impact and hardness were carried out on the prepared samples, the results

Glass Ionomer Cement (GIC) is one of the important dental temporary filing materials. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of adding 3, 5 and 7 wt. % of TiO2 microparticles to conventional GIC powder (Riva Self Cure) on mechanical properties and its effect on absorption and solubility processes. TiO2 particles additives improved compressive strength and biaxial flexural strength, where the compressive strength increased with increasing in the added ratio, while the highest value of the biaxial flexural strength was at 3 wt.%. The addition of TiO2 particles improved the surface Vickers microhardness values, with highest value at 5 wt. %. On other hand TiO2 addition im

The films were fabricated using spin coating technique. X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements displayed only one peak at 2θ =4.5o corresponding to (001) direction which has dhkl larger than for standard CuPcTs. The dhkl increase then decrease with increasing annealing temperature and
