Optimization of plasmonic Al/TiO₂ thin film characteristics via scanning pulsed fiber laser deposition
...Show More Authors

The deposition method of perovskite solar cell layers significantly impacts device functionality and the achievement of industrial goals. Aluminum (Al) nanoparticles with rutile titanium oxide (TiO2) nanoparticle thin films are fabricated on Fluorine Tin Oxide (FTO) glass substrates by nanosecond pulsed fiber laser deposition (PLD) to be used as a plasmonic electron transport layer (ETL) in perovskite solar cell (PSC). The effect of various pulsed fiber laser parameters on the structural, optical, and surface morphology on Al/TiO2 films is extensively examined utilizing a variety of measurement techniques; X-ray diffraction (XRD), Ultraviolet–visible (UV–Vis) spectroscopy, Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and Atomic Force microscope (AFM). XRD demonstrates that Al/TiO2 thin films has a mixed phase (anatase/rutile). The minimum average crystallite size of Al/TiO2 thin films deposited at (2 W - 40 kHz) is (19.8 nm). The absorption spectrum of the deposited Al/TiO2 thin film at (10 W - 20 kHz) shows a red-shifted absorption peak at 316 nm, while 307 nm is detected at (2 W - 20 kHz). As the pulse repetition rate rise (40, 60 kHz), a new absorption peak in the UV spectral region at 341 nm was observed. FESEM images demonstrate the nanoparticles’ uniformity and polycrystalline nature. The shape of nanoparticles becomes more uniform and smaller size when the power increases. The minimum power required to get a uniform film is 0.8 W nm with suitable thickness of 398.8 obtained by fitting the thickness values curve of Al/TiO2 thin films. The elemental analysis examined by the EDX spectrum of Al/TiO2 thin films consists of oxygen, aluminum, and titanium. AFM images reveal a granular microstructure, and a flat texture, with the lowest surface roughness. The obtained results from the current study indicate that the structural, optical, and morphological properties can be controlled by varying the fiber laser parameters to deposit an efficient plasmonic Al/TiO2 thin films could be used as an electron transport layer which open new trends to improve the performance of perovskite solar cell.

Study of Nonlinear Refraction and Nonlinear Absorption Coefficients of Different CdS Film Thickness by diode laser
...Show More Authors

In the present work, different thicknesses of CdS film were prepared by chemical bath deposition. Z-Scan technique was used to study the nonlinear refractive index and nonlinear absorption coefficients. Linear optical testing were done such as transmission test, and thickness of films were done by the interference fringes (Michelson interferometer). Z-scan experiment was performed at 650nm using CW diode laser and at 532nm wavelength. The results show the effect of self-focusing and defocusing that corresponds with nonlinear refraction n2. The effect of two-photon absorption was also studied, which correspond to the nonlinear absorption coefficient B.

Annealing effects on optical and structural properties of chromium oxide thin film deposited by PLD technique
...Show More Authors

Optical properties of chromium oxide (Cr2O3) thin films which were prepared by pulse laser deposition method, onto glass substrates. Different laser energy (500-900) mJ were used to obtain Cr2O3 thin films with thickness ranging from 177.3 to 372.4 nm were measured using Tolansky method. Then films were annealed at temperature equal to 300 °C. Absorption spectra were used to determine the absorption coefficient of the films, and the effects of the annealing temperature on the absorption coefficient were investigated. The absorption edge shifted to red range of wavelength, and the optical constants of Cr2O3 films increases as the annealing temperature increased to 300 °C. X-ray diffraction (XRD) study reveals that Cr2O3 thin films are a

Design and Construction of Nanostructure TiO2 Thin Film Gas Sensor Prepared by R.F Magnetron Sputtering Technique
...Show More Authors

In this research, Mn-doped TiO2 thin films were grown on glass, Si and OIT/glass substrates by R.F magnetron sputtering technique with thicknesses (250 nm) using TiO2:Mn target under Ar gas pressure and power of 100 Watt. Through the results of X-ray diffraction, the prepared thin films are of the polycrystallization type after the process of annealing at 600°C for two hour The average crystalline size were 145.32, 280.97 and 261.23 nm for (TiO2:Mn) thin film on glass, Si and OIT/glass substrates respectively, while the measured surface roughness is between 0.981nm and 1.14 nm. The fabricated (TiO2:Mn) thin film on glass sensors have high sensitivity for hydrogen( H2 reducing gas) compared to the sensitivity for hydrogen gas on Si and OIT/

Synthesis and characterization of (Fe2O3)1-x(MgO)x thin film composites for NH3 gas sensors
...Show More Authors

This research is presenting a study of optical and structural properties of (Fe2O3)1-x(MgO)x composites synthesized as thin film that can be used as a gas sensor. Pulsed laser deposition technique was used to prepare thin films of (Fe2O3)1-x(MgO)x. The pattern of X-ray diffraction of the composites powder showed the consistency of iron oxide (α-Fe2O3) hematite phase along with the planes (104) and (110) as preferred planes for crystal growth where the intensities of which varied with MgO content. The crystal size of the thin film material was varied in between (26.8-35.1) nm. The diffraction pattern of the pulsed laser deposited thin films was absent from any diffraction peaks. The maximum transparency obtained of hematite

The Effect of 532nm Nd: YAG Pulsed Laser on the Activity of Superoxide dismutase and Alcoholdehydrogenase of Saccharomyces Cerevisiae
...Show More Authors

In this study, the effect of Nd: YAG laser on the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and alcoholdehydrogenase (ADH) was investigated. The Saccharomyces cells were irradiated using 532nm Q-Switched Nd: YAG laser with (1Hz) frequency. Different fluences 11.3, 22.6 and 33.9mJ/cm2 and different number of pulses 15, 30 and 60 pulse were used. The irradiated cells were incubated in a liquid nutritive medium for 24 hours. After incubation, the cells were harvested and disrupted to extract the intracellular enzymes and their activities were assessed. In comparison with the control, the irradiated cells showed a significant increase in the activity and the specific activity of SOD at energy densities of 11.3 and 22.6mJ/cm2 at 30 and 60 pulses

Effect of Gas Mixture on the Output Characteristics of a CW CO2 Laser
...Show More Authors

In this work, the effect of partial amounts of gases in gas mixture of a CW CO2 laser on the output power was investigated. Also their effect on the condition determining the glow-discharge self-sustaining required for pumping the active medium was studied. Two fit relations were derived to predict the output laser power and the electric field to unit pressure ratio as functions to the partial amounts of gases. Results presented in this work could be used fruitfully to determine some of the optimum operational conditions of glow-discharge low-power CW CO2 lasers.
