يهدف البحث الحالي التعرف على :- 1- مستوى الجنوح الكامن لدى طلبة الصف الأول المتوسط . 2- التعرف اذا كانت هناك فروق ذات دلالة احصائية عند مستوى 0 0, والكشف عن أثر بعض المتغيرات الديموغرافية عليه، والمتمثلة في: الجنس، ومعاملة الوالدين (تسلط، تسامح، إهمال)، وسكن الطالب (مع الأبوين، أحدهما، أو مع الأقارب)، و اشتملت عينة البحث (600) طالب وطالبة من الصف الاول متوسط اختيرت بطريقة عشوائية طبقية في محافظة بغداد من مديريات (الكرخ والرصافة) ممن تبلغ أعمارهم (12) سنة بينما بلغت عينة التحليل الاحصائي(480) طالب وطالبة تم اختيارهم طريقة عشوائية من مديريات (الكرخ والرصافة)،ولأغراض البحث، قامت الباحثتان ببناء مقياس للجنوح الكامن، وتم استخراج الخصائص السايكومترية(التمييز ،الصدق،الثبات) للمقياس،كما استخدمت الباحثتان عددا من الوسائل الاحصائية ومنها (الاختبار التائي لعينة واحدة ولعينتين، التحليل العاملي، معادلة ارتباط بيرسون ،الاختبار الزائي). وتوصلت الباحثتان الى أن أفراد العينة يمتلكون مستوى منخفضًا من الجنوح الكامن، مما يدل على تمتعهم بسلوكيات منضبطة في هذه المرحلة العمرية، كما بينت النتائج عدم وجود فروق دالة إحصائيًا في مستوى الجنوح الكامن تعزى إلى الجنس أو إلى نوع معاملة الوالدين أو إلى سكن الطالب، مما يشير إلى أن هذه المتغيرات لم تؤثر بشكل واضح في الجنوح الكامن لدى التلاميذ ضمن العينة المدروسة ،وتؤكد هذه النتائج على ضرورة مواصلة رصد المؤشرات السلوكية في مرحلة الطفولة المتأخرة، لما لها من دور مهم في الوقاية من ظهور مظاهر الانحراف السلوكي مستقبلاً.
