Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) has a worldwide distribution and common infections. The presence of HCMV genome and antigens has been detected in many kinds of human cancers. The proto-oncogene Her2/neu is overexpressed in 25% to 30% of human breast cancers and frequently associated with tumor aggressiveness and worse prognosis. Examination was applied to detect different HCMV antigens and to demonstrate their correlation with Her2/neu overexpression in breast cancer. The present study includes samples from 70 women of 60 breast cancer patients and 10 normal breast tissues. Formalin-fixed paraffin embedded tissue blocks were obtained from each woman according to ethical approval. Human cytomegalovirus early antigen expression was detected in 56/60 (93%) of malignant samples while its expression in normal breast tissues 2/10(20%). which was highly significant (P<0.01) while HCMV late antigen was expressed in 37/60(61.7%) of malignant cases and in 7/10(70%) of normal breast tissues, which are statistically non-significant (P>0.05). Her2/neu protein showed negative expression in normal breast tissues and positive or equivocal in malignant breast tissues. A significant positive relationship (r=0.302; P<0.05) revealed between HCMV early antigen expression and Her2/neu protein overexpression and a significant positive relationship (r=0.280; P<0.05) was shown between HCMV late antigen expression and Her2/neu protein overexpression. These findings are the first to demonstrate the positive correlation between HCMV early and late antigens with Her2/neu overexpression in breast cancer. Also, HCMV early antigen was evident in malignant breast tissues raising the possibility that viral infection © 2019, Biochemical and Cellular Archives. All Rights Reserved.
Breast cancer is one of the most widespread cancers, depending on World Health Organization, cancer calculated for approximately 7.6 million incidences in 2008, whoever expected elevation in incidence is about 13.1 million in 2030. So that the current research investigates vitamin D role in the occurrence of this disease and explains if vitamin D has a positive effect on the incidence of disease, as well as measuring parathyroid hormone and estrogen levels. Three groups were included in this analysis: control healthy women, benign and malignant breast tumor women. All cases that were selected at the beginning of the disease diagnosis. According to statistical values vitamin D showed highly significant (P<0.001) decrease in benign (3.74±2.33

The disease is elicited by ingestion of gluten, a protein found in several cereals, principally wheat, but also barley and to a lesser extent, oats. Successful treatment is avoidance of dietary gluten. Long-standing evidence suggests a T-cell-mediated response to peptides derived from the gliadin fraction of wheat gluten, leading to immunologically mediated intestinal injury in genetically susceptible individuals. Abstract A descriptive study to assess the quality of life (QOL) for patients with colorectal cancer. The study was conducted from Baghdad Teaching Hospital, Al-Yarmouk Teaching Hospital and Radiation Hospital and Nuclear medicine for the period from 1st July/2004 to 1st September/2004. The sample selected by purposive random of (50) patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer and all of them who were under chemotherapy treatment. A questionnaire was prepared for the purpose of the study and comprised of three parts including: 1- Socio-demographical characteristics. 2- Clinical characteristics. 3- and QOL
Cytokines are A type of protein that is made by certain immune and non-immune cells and has an effect on the immune system. Some cytokines stimulate the immune system and others slow it down. Interleukins (ILs) can be divided into several families with more than 40 subfamily members. They can interact with a variety of cells that alter the immune system and act on a wide range of cancers. In the past several years, ILs have attracted substantial attention because of their distinct roles in CRC that provide a new and promising strategy for CRC. In general, ILs facilitate CRC by promoting tumorigenesis, tumour growth, angiogenesis, and cancer cell invasion and metastasis and inhibit CRC via complex pathways. The incidence of breast cancer is increasing around the world and it is still the leading cause of cancer mortality An Approximately 1.3 million new cases were diagnosed worldwide last year. With areas rising increasing, risk factors for breast cancer including obesity, early menarche, alcohol and smoking, environmental contamination and reduced or late birth rates become more prevalent. In Iraq, breast cancer ranks first among types of cancers diagnosed in women. This study was conducted on one hundred twenty women with breast cancer that was evaluated and investigated for the possible role of the risk factors on the development of breast cancer in females. T
