Consistency and Consistency in Contemporary Iraqi Painting - Selected Models-: حسين شاكر قاسم العيداني
...Show More Authors

The tagged research is concerned with observation and investigating the concepts of consistency and harmony in contemporary Iraqi painting (selected models) in order to reveal the mechanisms and rules of these two concepts in the artistic field and their mechanisms of operation. How reflected tools Consistency and harmony in contemporary Iraqi painting? What is consistency and what are its mechanisms and principles? Is consistency a unit product quality? Are there similarities between consistency and harmony? What is harmony and its principles and rules? As for the second chapter, it included two topics that dealt with the first topic - consistency and harmony between concept and significance, while the second topic meant - histor

In Vivo and In Vitro Evaluation of the Protective Effects of Hesperidin in Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Inflammation and Cytotoxicity of Cell
...Show More Authors

(1) Background: Plant flavonoids are efficient in preventing and treating various diseases. This study aimed to evaluate the ability of hesperidin, a flavonoid found in citrus fruits, in inhibiting lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induced inflammation, which induced lethal toxicity in vivo, and to evaluate its importance as an antitumor agent in breast cancer. The in vivo experiments revealed the protective effects of hesperidin against the negative LPS effects on the liver and spleen of male mice. (2) Methods: In the liver, the antioxidant activity was measured by estimating the concentration of glutathione (GSH) and catalase (CAT), whereas in spleen, the concentration of cytokines including IL-33 and TNF-α was measured. The in vitro expe

Modulating Effects of Fimasartan and Omega-3 on Cisplatin-Induced Testicular Toxicity in Rats
...Show More Authors

Background: Cisplatin is a widely used antineoplastic drug in different types of cancers (ovarian, testicular, and hematological) with several types of adverse effects, including testicular toxicity. Fimasartan is a newer angiotensin-receptor blocker (ARB) that has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Omega-3 is an unsaturated fatty acid that has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Objective: to evaluate the protective effects of fimasartan alone or in combination with omega-3 against cisplatin-induced testicular toxicity. Methods: Thirty Wistar rats were divided into five groups: control group, cisplatin-treated group, fimasartan+cisplatin group, fimasartan+omega-3+cisplatin group, and omega-3+cisplatin group. Trea

Effect of Operating Conditions on Reverse Osmosis (RO) Membrane Performance
...Show More Authors

The aim of this research is to study the effect of high concentrations of salts, pressure and temperature on the performance of the RO membrane with time. Four different (Na2CO3) concentrations (5000, 15000, 25000 and 35000) ppm and various pressures such as (1, 3 and 5) bars at different temperatures of the feed solution (i.e., 25, 35 and 45) ◦C were used in this work. It was found that, as the concentration of salt and feed temperatures increase, the rejection of the salt decrease. While the salt rejection of the membranes increases with increase of transmembrane pressure.

CYTOTOXIC IMPACT OF OUTER MEMBRANE NANOVESICLES (OMVS) ON OVARIAN CANCER
...Show More Authors

This study focused on extracting the outer membrane nanovesicles (OMVs) from Escherichia coli BE2 (EC- OMVs) by ultracentrifugation, and the yield was 2.3mg/ml. This was followed by purification with gel filtration chromatography using Sephadex G-150, which was 2mg/ml. The morphology and size of purified EC-OMVs were confirmed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) at 40-200 nm. The nature of functional groups in the vesicle vesicle was determined by Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) analysis. The antitumor activity of EC-OMVs was conducted in vitro by MTT assay in human ovarian (OV33) cancer cell line at 24,48 and 96hrs. The cytotoxicity test showed high susceptibility to the vesicles in ovarian compared to normal

Extraction of atropine from Datura Innoxia using liquid membrane Technique
...Show More Authors

Selective recovery of atropine from Datura innoxia seeds was studied. Applying pertraction in a rotating film contactor (RFC) the alkaloid was successfully recovered from native aqueous extracts obtained from the plant seeds. Decane as a liquid membrane and sulfuric acid as a stripping agent were used. Pertraction from native liquid extracts provided also a good atropine refinement, since the most of co-extracted from the plant species remained in the feed or membrane solution. Solid–liquid extraction of atropine from Datura innoxia seeds was coupled with RF-pertraction in order to purify simultaneously the extract obtained from the plant. Applying the integrated process, proposed in this study, a product containing 92.6% atropine was

Application of Emulsion Liquid Membrane Process for Cationic Dye Extraction
...Show More Authors

In the present work studies were carried out to extract a cationic dye (Methylene Blue MB) from an aqueous solution using emulsion liquid membrane process (ELM). The organic phase (membrane phase) consists of Span 80 as emulsifier, sulfuric acid solution as stripping agent and hexane as diluent.

In this study, important factors influencing the extraction of methylene blue dye were studied. These factors include H2SO4 concentration in the stripping phase, agitation speed in the dye permeation stage, Initial dye concentration and diluent type.

More than (98%) of Methylene blue dye was extracted at the following conditions: H2SO4 concentration (1.25) M, agitation

Demulsification of Remaining Waste (Water In Oil Emulsions) After Removal Of Phenol In Emulsion Liquid Membrane Process
...Show More Authors

The aim of present work is to study the removal of phenol present in aqueous feed solution by the emulsion liquid membrane technique using kerosene as a diluent, sodium hydroxide as a stripping agent, and sorbitan monooleate (Span 80) as a surfactant. The parameters studied were: surfactant concentration, volume ratio of membrane phase to internal phase, and stirring speed. It was found that more than 98% of phenol can be removed at the conditions were surfactant concentration 2% (v/v), volume ratio of membrane phase to internal phase 5:1 and stirring speed 400 rpm. Maximum phenol extraction efficiency at 7 minutes of process time was observed. It was found that there was a good agreement between the standard kerosene an

Fimasartan attenuates edema and systemic changes in egg albumin-induced paw inflammation in rats
...Show More Authors

Angiotensin receptor blockers are well known for their therapeutic efficacy and fimasartan has been used safely and efficiently since 2010 in the treatment of hypertension. The study aimed to examine the anti-inflammatory effect of fimasartan in egg albumin-induced inflammation in rats. Rats were treated with diclofenac (25 mg/kg, intraperitoneally) or fimasartan at two different doses (3 or 10 mg/kg, intraperitoneally). The increase in the thickness of the paw was considered to be edema, which was measured using a vernier caliper. Serum was collected to analyze the systemic production of the inflammatory mediators TNF-α, and IL-6. The results showed that fimasartan in both doses significantly reduced edema in inflamed rat paws and produce
