Study the Effect of 12-Hydroxyoctadecanoic Acid Concentration on Preparation and Characterization of Floating Organogels using Cinnarizin as Modeling Drug
...Show More Authors

This work targeted studying organogel as a potential floating system. Organgel has an excellent viscoelastic properties, floating system posses a depot property.  Different formulations of 12-hydroxyoctadecanoic acid (HOA) in sesame oil were gelled and selecting F1, F3 and F5 HOA organogels for various examinations: tabletop rheology, optical microscopy, and oscillatory rheology studies. Also, the floating properties studies were conducted at in vitro and in-vivo levels. Lastly, the in-vitro release study using cinnarizine (CN) was to investigate the organogel depot property. Based on the results, the selected concentrations of HOA in sesame oil organogels showed temperature transitions fr

Mesogenic materials incorporating 4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-thiol moiety: Synthesis, characterization and liquid crystals study
...Show More Authors

Three series of monomers, polymers and thioester cyclic compounds containing 4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-thiol moiety were synthesized and examined for their liquid crystalline properties. All monomers, polymers and thioester compounds were characterized by elemental analysis and FTIR, 1 H-NMR and mass spectroscopy. The phase transition and mesomorphic properties were investigated by polarized optical microscope (POM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The monomer with terminal phenyl substituent display dimorphism nematic and smectic A (SmA) mesophases. The corresponding polymers derived from acrylic and phenyl acrylic acid monomers show nematic mesophase. The only thioester cyclic compound derived from terephtaloyl chloride show nemati

Wastewater remediation using activated carbon derived from Alhagi plant
...Show More Authors

This work focuses on the use of biologically produced activated carbon for improving the physi-co-chemical properties of water samples obtained from the Tigris River. An eco-friendly and low-cost activated carbon was prepared from the Alhagi plant using potassium hydroxide (KOH) as an impregnation agent. The prepared activated carbon was characterised using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy to determine the functional groups that exist on the raw material (Alhagi plant) and Alhagi activated carbon (AAC). Scanning electron microscope–energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscope was also used to investigate the surface shape and the elements that compose the powder. Brunauer–Emmett–Teller surface area analysis was used to evaluate the spe

FORTIFYING KIDS’ FOOD WITH LABORATORY GROWN-LEGUMES AND STUDYING OF MICROBIAL AND NUTRITIONAL PROPERTIES
...Show More Authors

This study was conducted on the possibility of manufacturing kids’ foods fortified by legumes. Three raw materials of boiled vegetables (carrots, potatoes and zucchini) were used, one of the pre-boiled legumes was added to the mixture, which included chickpeas, lentils, mung, soybean, fenugreek, by the percentage of 5% and 10%. The results of the chemical analysis showed no statistically significant differences (P <0.05) between the coefficients of moisture, ash and fiber. However, the ash ratio increased from 0.76 to 0.88% and fiber from 0.43 to 0.87%. As for protein and fat, A8 coefficient (add 10% soybean bean) recorded highest ratio of 2.54 and 0.71% respectively, the results of the analysis of mineral elements showed that the A8 coef

Modified Polyvinyl Alcohol Containing New Imides / Iron Oxide Nanoparticles :Synthesis , Characterization and  Biological Evaluation
...Show More Authors

A series of new imides compounds[1-4] were synthesized from reaction of tetrachlorophthalic anhydride or nitro phthalic anhydride or malic anhydride or Succinic anhydride  with  4-amino benzene thiol under fusion conditions. Chloroacetic acid has been added after compounds [1-4] reacted with distilled H2O and Na2CO3, producing compounds [5-8]. In benzene, compounds [5-8] also interacted with the thionyl chloride to produce [9-12]. Poly (vinyl alcohol) was chemically modified by reacting PVA with compounds [9-12] and dimethyl formamide to produce compounds [13-16]. Iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs) are mixed with modified PVA [13-16] to create nanocomposites [17-20]. Spectral and analytical data from synthesized compounds, such as 1

This search include the synthesis of some new 1,3-oxazepine derivatives have been prepared, starting from reaction of L-ascorbic acid with dry acetone in presence of dry hydrogen chloride afforded the acetal (I). Treatment of the latter with p-nitrobenzoyl chloride in dry pyridine yielded the ester (II) which was dissolved in (65%) acetic acid in absolute ethanol yielded the glycol (III). The reaction of the glycol (III) with sodium periodate in distilled water at room temperature produced the aldehyde (IV). The compound (V) [2-amino-5-mercapato-1,3,4-thiadiazole] was prepared through the reaction of thiosemicarbazide with carbon disulphide (CS2) in entity of anhydrous (Na2CO3) in (abs. ethanol ). Blood samples were collected from (31) pregnant women infected with cytomegalovirus , also (15) blood samples were collected from congenitally infected infants, and (20),(15),(15) blood samples were collected from pregnant women ,non pregnant and infants, respectively, all of them were as control groups. CMV infection identified by using ELISA assay to detect specific CMV IgM & IgG in sera. The results of lymphocyte transformation showed a significant decrease when phytoheamagglutinin (PHA) used as stimulator, lymphocytes response in infected pregnant women was lower than that of non infected pregnant women as well as non pregnant women. Result also showed a significant decrease in the ability of lymphocyte division in healthy pregnant w
