The accurate identification of internal and external pressures in thick-walled hyperelastic vessels is a challenging inverse problem with significant implications for structural health monitoring, biomedical devices, and soft robotics. Conventional analytical and numerical approaches address the forward problem effectively but offer limited means for recovering unknown load conditions from observable deformations. In this study, we introduce a Graph-FEM/ML framework that couples high-fidelity finite element simulations with machine learning models to infer normalized internal and external pressures from measurable boundary deformations. A dataset of 1386 valid samples was generated through Latin Hypercube Sampling of geometric and loading parameters and simulated using finite element analysis with a Neo-Hookean constitutive model. Two complementary neural architectures were explored: graph neural networks (GNNs), which operate directly on resampled and feature-enriched boundary data, and convolutional neural networks (CNNs), which process image-based representations of undeformed and deformed cross-sections. The GNN models consistently achieved low root-mean-square errors (≈0.021) and stable correlations across training, validation, and test sets, particularly when augmented with displacement and directional features. In contrast, CNN models exhibited limited predictive accuracy: quarter-section inputs regressed toward mean values, while full-ring and filled-section inputs improved after Bayesian optimization but remained inferior to GNNs, with higher RMSEs (0.023–0.030) and modest correlations (R2). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first work to combine boundary deformation observations with graph-based learning for inverse load identification in hyperelastic vessels. The results highlight the advantages of boundary-informed GNNs over CNNs and establish a reproducible dataset and methodology for future investigations. This framework represents an initial step toward a new direction in mechanics-informed machine learning, with the expectation that future research will refine and extend the approach to improve accuracy, robustness, and applicability in broader engineering and biomedical contexts.
This study uses load factor and loss factor to determine the power losses of the electrical feeders. An approach is presented to calculate the power losses in the distribution system. The feeder’s technical data and daily operation recorded data are used to calculate and analyze power losses.
This paper presents more realistic method for calculating the power losses based on load and loss factors instead of the traditional methods of calculating the power losses that uses the RMS value of the load current which not consider the load varying with respect to the time. Eight 11kV feeders are taken as a case study for our work to calculate load factor, loss factor and power losses. Four of them (F40, F42, F43 and F

The study is concerned with modeling the TL which carries the oil from the electro-hydraulic servovalve to the actuator. The pressure value inside the TL has been controlled by the electro-hydraulic servovalve as a voltage supplied to the servovalve amplifier. The flow rate through the TL has been simulated by using the lumped π element electrical analogy method for laminar flow. The control voltage supplied to servovalve can be achieved by the direct using of the voltage function generator or indirect C++ program connected to the DAP-view program built in the DAP-card data acqu

The electron temperature, electron density and Debay length were calculated under different pressures and electrode gap. In this work the RF Langmuir probe is designed using 4MHz filter as compensation circuit and I-V probe characteristic have been investigated. The pressure varied from 0.07 mbar to 0.1 mbar while electrode gap varied from 2-5 cm. The plasma was generated using power supply at 4MHz frequency with power 300 W. The flowmeter is used to control Argon gas flow in the range of 600 standard cubic centimeters per minute (sccm). The electron temperature drops slowly with pressure and it's gradually decreased when expanding the electro

Show MoreBackground: This study aimed to determine the gender of a sample of Iraqi adults using the mesio-distal width of mandibular canines, inter-canine width and standard mandibular canine index, and to determine the percentage of dimorphism as an aid in forensic dentistry. Materials and methods: The sample included 200 sets of study models belong to 200 subjects (100 males and 100 females) with an age ranged between 17-23 years. The mesio-distal crown dimension was measured manually, from the contact points for the mandibular canines (both sides), in addition to the inter-canine width using digital vernier. Descriptive statistics were obtained for the measurements for both genders; paired sample t-test was used to evaluate the side difference of

The speaker identification applications include authentication in critical security systems and the accuracy of the selection. Large-scale voice recognition applications are a major challenge. Quick search in the speaker database requires fast, modern techniques and relies on artificial intelligence to achieve the desired results from the system. Many efforts are made to achieve this through the establishment of variable-based systems and the development of new methodologies for speaker identification.
