The Dwelling is a Fundamental issue related to human beings; throughout time, man has always had to dwell in a place and build his house. Due to different styles and typologies appearing all over the world, all containing the character of privacy as the main element of human life in their dwellings. The present study aims to investigate the temporal shift in understanding privacy during the 20th and 21st centuries in Baghdadi houses, and what are the physical elements that are related to the meaning of privacy? The research methodology analyzed the concepts of privacy to extract the research indicators to be applied to (49) samples of individual houses in selected neighborhoods in two different periods. The data was collected from visual surveys and checklist observations that the researchers conducted with 90 Iraqi residents living in those design types and styles. The results indicated that privacy resembles a balanced physical treatment interrelated to social considerations planning, ranging from space designs to the details, which results in organizing the individual’s interactions with the family and then the family's interaction with others, mainly the neighbors. Each one of them has its own design and planning requirements. The results showed increased privacy features and approaching (isolation) in the contemporary Baghdadi house (after 2003) due to the change in the social nature of neighborhood members and a decreased sense of security. The research noted that there are planning indicators associated with an increased sense of privacy, such as the width of the residential street, the residential nature of the neighborhood, and the nonexistence of a neighbor across from the house.
<p>The current work investigated the combustion efficiency of biodiesel engines under diverse ratios of compression (15.5, 16.5, 17.5, and 18.5) and different biodiesel fuels produced from apricot oil, papaya oil, sunflower oil, and tomato seed oil. The combustion process of the biodiesel fuel inside the engine was simulated utilizing ANSYS Fluent v16 (CFD). On AV1 diesel engines (Kirloskar), numerical simulations were conducted at 1500 rpm. The outcomes of the simulation demonstrated that increasing the compression ratio (CR) led to increased peak temperature and pressures in the combustion chamber, as well as elevated levels of CO2 and NO mass fractions and decreased CO emission values un

The source of radiation may be outside the body of the patient (external beam irradiation) or it may be an isotope that has been implanted or instilled into abnormal tissue or a body cavity. Called also radiotherapy. The aim of work studies the relationship between the depth dose and the high photon xray energies (6MeV and 10MeV). Patients and methods: in our work, we studied the dose distribution in water phantom given at different depths (zero-18) cm deep at1cm intervals treated with different field size (5×5-,10×1

Show MoreIn this study, four different spectrophotometric methods were applied for determination of cimetidine and erythromycin ethylsuccinate drugs in pure form and in their pharmaceutical preparations. The suggested methods are simple, sensitive, accurate, not time consuming and inexpensive. The results showed the following: The first method: Based on the formation of ion pair complex of each drug with bromothymol blue (BTB) as a chromogenic reagent. The formed complexes were extracted with chloroform and their absorbance values were measured at 427.5 nm for cimetidine and 416.5nm for erythromycin ethylsuccinate; against their reagents blanks. Two different methods, univariate method and multivariate method, were used to obtain the optimum condit

The electrical and physical properties were performed with cyclic voltammeter technique, and studied the maximum current response, the effective surface area, effect of the pH value and the determination of active surface area for MWCNT-SPCE , f-MWCNT-SPCE and f-MWCNT-GOT/SPCE as (0.04 cm2), (0.119 cm2) and (0.115 cm2) respectively, the surface coverage concent

Show MoreIn humans, Pseudomonas aeruginosa is the second most frequent gram negative nosocomial pathogen in hospitals and has the highest case-fatality rate of all hospital-acquired bacteremia because of the hardy resistance of these bacteria to mechanical cleansing as well as to disinfectant, and many antibiotics. The susceptibility of bacteria against the antibiotics is modulated by several local factors such as temperature which modified drug efficacy, so this study was carried out to evaluate the effect of different temperature (20,42,45)Ċon the susceptibility of Pseudomonas aeruginosa to the minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) of the antimicrobial agents before and after irradiation. The samples collected from 150 persons suffering from

Show MoreFrequency equations for rectangular plate model with and without the thermoelastic effect for the cases are: all edges are simply supported, all edges are clamped and two opposite edges are clamped others are simply supported. These were obtained through direct method for simply supported ends using Hamilton’s principle with minimizing Ritz method to total energy (strain and kinetic) for the rest of the boundary conditions. The effect of restraining edges on the frequency and mode shape has been considered. Distributions temperatures have been considered as a uniform temperature the effect of developed thermal stresses due to restrictions of ends conditions on vibration characteristics of a plate with different

Show MoreBy using governing differential equation and the Rayleigh-Ritz method of minimizing the total potential energy of a thermoelastic structural system of isotropic thermoelastic thin plates, thermal buckling equations were established for rectangular plate with different fixing edge conditions and with different aspect ratio. The strain energy stored in a plate element due to bending, mid-plane thermal force and thermal bending was obtained. Three types of thermal distribution have been considered these are: uniform temperature, linear distribution and non-linear thermal distribution across thickness. It is observed that the buckling strength enhanced considerably by additional clamping of edges. Also, the thermal buckling temperatures and

Three types of addition methods of hydrated lime were introduced namely dry HL on dry aggregate and saturated surface aggregate above 3% and slurry HL on dry aggregate, ordinary Lime stone powder was reduced by three HL percentage (1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 %). The effect of different methods were investigated on the fatigue properties of HMA using, third-point flexural fatigue bending Test. Pneumatic Repeated Load System (PRLS) was carried out to establish the effect of hydrated lime on the fatigue failure criteria and to select the proper hydrated lime application methods on fatigue behavior o

They can provide valuable information about the foot pressure distribution and gait patterns of different individuals. However, designing and implementing such systems poses several challenges, such as sensor selection, calibration, data processing, and interpretation. This paper proposes a sensing insole system that uses force-sensitive resistors (FSRs) to measure the pressure exerted by the foot on different regions of the insole. This system classifies four types of foot deformities: normal, flat, over-pronation, and excessive supination. The classification stage uses the differential values of pressure points as input for a feedforwar
