Water Quality Index Assessment using GIS Case study: Tigris River in Baghdad City
...Show More Authors

In this study water quality index (WQI) was calculated to classify the flowing water in the Tigris River in Baghdad city. GIS was used to develop colored water quality maps indicating the classification of the river for drinking water purposes. Water quality parameters including: Turbidity, pH, Alkalinity, Total hardness, Calcium, Magnesium, Iron, Chloride, Sulfate, Nitrite, Nitrate, Ammonia, Orthophosphate and Total dissolved solids were used for WQI determination. These parameters were recorded at the intakes of the WTPs in Baghdad for the period 2004 to 2011. The results from the annual average WQI analysis classified the Tigris River very poor to polluted at the north of Baghdad (Alkarkh WTP) while it was very poor to very polluted in the south (Alrasheed WTP). WQI reached a maximum value of 912 at Alwathba WTP in 2011and 602 at Alqadisia in 2009 (WTPs at the center part of Baghdad). This classification considers the river unfit for drinking water purposes. Eight color maps of the river were constructed by GIS all gave clear images of the water quality along the river. GIS helped to join the calculated WQI in such an organized and scientific allowing decision making easier to solve pollution problems.

Quality Control of Steel in Steel Iron Product Factory System
...Show More Authors

The steel industry sector is witnessing an obvious growth in most worldwide nations and gulf countries. We wish that Iraq would be one of these superiors that go on along field to develop the construction industry in Iraq. Hence we need to notify that the government attention should be equivalent to the importance of steel industry and other industries would depend on this one, it should be presented the full support to the general sector, which is represented by ministry of industry and its institutions throughout the suitable legislation and facilities for the private companies are already into that, and they might record progress in this field. this study aims to use scrap steel as raw materials in manufacturing iron steel such war remai

Abstract

The goal of this research is to know the quality of working life and its impact on the level of the organizational sense of alienation among a sample of teaching Anbar University in the center of Baghdad. Find and seek to achieve a number of cognitive and practical goals.

Where the quality of work life constitutes one of the main sources to enable organizations of excellence in light of the volatile environment, as is one of alienation regulatory organizations avoid the phenomena that occur because of their negative effects on performance and thus achieve their goals. The most research problem in question the existence of the main deficiencies in the application of the concepts of organiz

The Impacts of Environmental-Geomorphology of the Kut Barrage on the Tigris Waterway and the Neighboring regions
...Show More Authors

The research dealt with the effect of Kut Barrage on the geomorphological processes and the natural environment system in the course of the Tigris between the cities of Al-Ahrar and Kut in central Iraq. It was clear from the research the contribution of Kut Barrage in changing the surface runoff system between the front and back of the barrage, as well as changing the type of processes and the prevailing geomorphic forms, as the sedimentation activates the front of the barrage and erosion at its back, which affected the change in the morphology of the river, sediment retention at the front of the barrage, the burial of the bottom and reducing the validity of the stream. This also affects the efficiency of the barrage’s work and coastal er

Cheek onchocercoma: A case report
...Show More Authors

Onchocerciasis is an infection with cutaneous, ocular and systemic manifestations caused by the filarial nematode Onchocerca volvulus, which is transmitted by the bite of various species of the anthropophilic blood-sucking Simulium vectors (black flies). Onchocerciasis is endemic to the savannahs and rainforests of subequatorial Africa and in some countries of the Arabian Peninsula, notably Yemen and Oman, and in Central America, and the Amazon basin of South America. Onchocercomas, which can be defined as subcutaneous fibrous nodules containing adult worms, are among the variable clinical manifestations of this infestation; they are either superficial or deep and usually located over bony prominences. In this paper we report a case of an o

A High Resolution 3D Geomodel for Giant Carbonate Reservoir- A Field Case Study from an Iraqi Oil Field
...Show More Authors

Constructing a fine 3D geomodel for complex giant reservoir is a crucial task for hydrocarbon volume assessment and guiding for optimal development. The case under study is Mishrif reservoir of Halfaya oil field, which is an Iraqi giant carbonate reservoir. Mishrif mainly consists of limestone rocks which belong to Late Cenomanian age. The average gross thickness of formation is about 400m. In this paper, a high-resolution 3D geological model has been built using Petrel software that can be utilized as input for dynamic simulation. The model is constructed based on geological, geophysical, pertophysical and engineering data from about 60 available wells to characterize the structural, stratigraphic, and properties distribution along

Data Driven Approach for Predicting Pore Pressure of Oil and Gas Wells, Case Study of Iraq Southern Oilfields
...Show More Authors

Precise forecasting of pore pressures is crucial for efficiently planning and drilling oil and gas wells. It reduces expenses and saves time while preventing drilling complications. Since direct measurement of pore pressure in wellbores is costly and time-intensive, the ability to estimate it using empirical or machine learning models is beneficial. The present study aims to predict pore pressure using artificial neural network. The building and testing of artificial neural network are based on the data from five oil fields and several formations. The artificial neural network model is built using a measured dataset consisting of 77 data points of Pore pressure obtained from the modular formation dynamics tester. The input variables
