In order to evaluate the effect of seed size, plant growth regulators and some chemical materials on seed vigour and seedling growth of rice (Oryza sativa L.) an experiment was conducted in 2015 at Laboratories of Agriculture and Marshes College, University of Thi-Qar. Factorial experiment in CRD was used with four replications in two factors. The first factor included three seed sizes (4.6-5.1, 5.2-5.7 and 5.8-6.3 mm). In the current study, two sites were selected from the city of Adhamiya, central Baghdad. The first site is the Adhamiya Corniche, which includes a sample of river water and the second includes domestic sewage in the same area. The total density of benthic invertebrates was 775 ind/m2, which is divided into 15 taxa. Biological indices were found, such as the stability index, the abundance index, the biodiversity index (Shannon’s index), the homogeneity index, and the invader’s guide. The result showed an increase in the density of benthic invertebrates, as well as an increase in the diversity of these organisms.

The current study explores the theme of ‘identity crisis’ in Fadia Faqir’s Willow Trees Don't Weep (2014) from a socio-pragmatic perspective. The study aims to examine the identity crisis using socio-pragmatic tools, delineate the aspects of identity crisis and showcase the social factors that shape the main character’s identity crisis. To conduct this study, an eclectic model incorporating Searle's (1969) taxonomy of speech acts, Prince et al.’s (1982) hedges and Grice’s (1975) conversational implicature will be used. The analysis reveals that only representative and expressive speech acts are utilized, with the representative speech act of stating being the dominant one.
