In Vivo Mechanical and Histological Evaluation of the Effect of Vacuum Storage and Ultra Violet Light Treatment of Titanium Implants on Osseointegration

Background: Titanium implant is widely used in dentistry because of its extraordinary biocompatibility and mechanical properties. To increase bone–implant connection and provide early loading after placement, implant is stored in different storage medium and treated with UV light. Both of them are applicable methods to increase the bioactivity of titanium and overcome the biological aging. This study was designed to assess the effect of vacuum storage method and air storage with and without UV light treated of Cp Ti implant mechanically and histologically. Materials and methods: Titanium screws were acid etched and prepared in four different modes using different storage methods (air or vacuum and, with or without UV treatment. The implant screws were stored 4 weeks and then implanted into rabbit's tibia for histological and torque removal examinations. Results: There was a significant increase in mean value of torque removal test for screws air treated with UV light, vacuum and vacuum treated with UV light (14.5 ,13.8 ,17.92 N.cm respectively after 2 weeks, and (21.5333, 22.5 ,26.47 N.cm respectively after 4 weeks) compared with air storage screws (8.4 N.cm after 2 weeks, and 11.4 N.cm after 4 weeks). Histological examination showed bone formation mineralization and maturation increased with advancing time for air treated with UV light, vacuum and vacuum treated with UV light screws. Conclusion: vacuum storage method and air storage with UV light treated methods of Cp Ti implant had great effect in increasing the osseointegration than air storage methods, while the vacuum storage and treated with UV light have synergistic effects on the biological properties of aged titanium surfaces.

Effect of heat treatment on the structural and optical properties of CuIn1-xGaxSe thin films

The structural, optical properties of cupper indium gallium selenite (CuIn1-xGaxSe) have been studied. CuIn1-xGaxSe thin films for x=0.6 have been prepared by thermal evaporation technique, of 2000±20 nm thickness, with rate of deposition 2±0.1 nm/sec, on glass substrate at room temperature. Heat treatment has been carried out in the range (373-773) K for 1 hour. It demonstrated from the XRD method that all the as-deposited and annealed films have polycrystalline structure of multiphase. Study the Effect of Heat Treatment and Pressure on Some Electrical Properties of Nano Polycarbonate

In the present research, the electrical properties which included the ac-conductivity (σac), loss tangent of dielectric (tan δ) and real dielectric constant (ε’) are studied for nano polycarbonate in different pressures and frequencies as a function of temperature these properties were studied at selective temperature gradients which are (RT-50-100-150-250)°C. The results of the study showed that the values of dielectric constant and dissipation factor increase with increasing pressure and temperature and decreases by increasing frequency. And the results of electrical conductivity showed that it increases with increasing temperature, pressure and frequency.

Evaluation of Mechanical Properties of Particulate Composites

A series of experiments have been taken out to test the validity of the effect of Aluminum hydrate on its interaction with Aluminum during sintering of aluminum metal matrix. The approach has been shown to be valid and several compositions have been fabricated. The alumina hydrate particle size and the amount of alumina hydrate in the composites are also shown to have an influence on the extent of densification.

The densities for all sintered specimens were measured. It was found that density increases as compaction pressure increases, the density decreases as particles size increases.
