...Show More Authors

Compound 4-(((6-amino-7H-[1, 2, 4] triazolo [3, 4-b][1, 3, 4] thiadiazin-3-yl) methoxy) methyl)-2, 6-dimethoxyphenol (6) was synthesized by multi steps. The corresponding acetonitrile thioalkyl (7) was cyclized by refluxing with acetic acid to afford 4-(((6-amino-7H-[1, 2, 4] triazolo [3, 4-b][1, 3, 4] thiadiazin-3-yl) methoxy) methyl)-2, 6-dimethoxyphenol (8). Two new series of 4-(((6-(3-(4-aryl) thioureido)-7H-[1, 2, 4] triazolo [3, 4-b][1, 3, 4] thiadiazin-3-yl) methoxy) methyl)-2, 6-dimethoxyphenol (9a-c) and of 4-(((6-(substitutedbenzamido) 7H-[1, 2, 4] triazolo [3, 4-b][1, 3, 4] thiadiazin-3-yl) methoxy) methyl)-2, 6-dimethoxyphenol (10a-c) were synthesized as new derivatives for fused 1, 2, 4-trizaole-thiadiazine (8). The antioxidants of newly compounds were evaluated by DPPH and FRAP assays. Compound 9b showed significant antioxidant ability in both assays (higher than ascorbic acid) as well compound 6, 8 and 10a-c showed antioxidant higher than BHT.

Antioxidant and free radical scavenging effects of Iraqi sumac ( Rhus coriaria L)
...Show More Authors

This study was carried out to evaluate the antioxidant activity of Iraqi sumac seeds (Rhus coriaria. L) (Anacardiaceae). Total phenolic compounds and flavoniods were determined in three different sumac seed extracts (SSE) (aqueous, ethanolic and methanolic extract). For extraction Antioxidant activity of SSE were evaluated by various antioxidant assays, including total antioxidant capacity, reducing power,by using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl hydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging, nitric oxide scavenging, Hydroxyl radical scavenging, and metal ion chelating activities. These various antioxidant activities were compared with ascorbic acid as a standard antioxidant. The results showed that the three(SSE), contained large amounts of phenolic and flavonio

Experimental Comparison between WASP and LSASF in Bartlesville Sandstone Reservoir Cores Bearing Heavy Oil
...Show More Authors

Low salinity (LS) water flooding is a promising EOR method which has been examined by many experimental studies and field pilots for a variety of reservoirs and oils. This paper investigates applying LS flooding to a heavy oil. Increasing the LS water temperature improves heavy oil recovery by achieving higher sweep efficiency and improving oil mobility by lowering its viscosity. Steam flooding projects have reported many problems such as steam gravity override, but override can be lessened if the steam is is alternated with hot LS water. In this study, a series of reservoir sandstone cores were obtained from Bartlesville Sandstone (in Eastern Kansas) and aged with heavy crude oil (from the same reservoir) at 95°C for 45 days. Five reservo

Gas hydrates investigation: flow assurance for gas production and effects on hydrate-bearing sediments
...Show More Authors

This thesis was aimed to study gas hydrates in terms of their equilibrium conditions in bulk and their effects on sedimentary rocks. The hydrate equilibrium measurements for different gas mixtures containing CH4, CO2 and N2 were determined experimentally using the PVT sapphire cell equipment. We imaged CO2 hydrate distribution in sandstone, and investigated the hydrate morphology and cluster characteristics via μCT. Moreover, the effect of hydrate formation on the P-wave velocities of sandstone was investigated experimentally.

Analysis of Amino Acids of the Brain in Embryo and Adult of Quail.
...Show More Authors

Amino acids have the role in the process of proteins synthesis. They are an essential source of nitrogen atoms that have a role in the pathways of synthetic reaction pathways. The carbon skeletons of the amino acids are the source of energy in addition to their role as precursors in the paths of interactions. The amino acids analysis for the brain of the quail bird in different stage of development (10-16 days of incubation) in addition to the hatching stage (17th day) and the adult. Materials and Methods: Amino Acids Analysis The amino acids were separated from the embryos and adult brains of the quail bird Coturnix coturnix and were diagnosed based on standard amino acids, using high performance liquid chromatographic device (H.P.L.C.). A series of imidazole [1,2-a] pyridine sulfonamide derivatives was designed and synthesized starting from 2-aminopyridine. In first step, 2-amino pyridine was reacted with 4-bromo phenacyl bromide in the presence of MgO leading to the afford the corresponding imidazole [1,2-a] pyridine scaffold (Panda et al., 2022 [1] ). This intermediate was subsequently subjected to chlorosulfonation using chlorosulfonic acid to afford imidazo [1,2-a] pyridine −3- sulfonyl chloride (Amer, 2009 [2] ). Thereafter, derivative (Amer, 2009 [2] ) was treated with a variety of drugs containing an amine group [4-amino-5-chloro-N-(2- (diethyl amino) ethyl) -2-methoxy benzamide, 4-amino -N-(pyridin-2-yl) benzene sulfonamide and 4-(amino methyl) cyclohexane −1-c

Antitumor and antioxidant activity of Aloe vera leaf gel extract
...Show More Authors

The purpose of the study was to determine the in-vitro antitumor and antioxidant activity of Aloe vera gel extract by evaluating the cytotoxic effect of extract and Zoladex (goserelin) on breast cancer cell line (MCF-7) and prostate cancer cell line (PC-3), in addition to measure the antioxidant activity to find out this kind of anticancer drug, which is a cheap, safe, less toxic, and more active drug contrasted to chemotherapy drug. The cytotoxic effect evaluated by cytotoxicity assay (MTT assay), while the activity of the Aloe Vera gel as antioxidant was tested using a scavenging test of free radical (2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) (DPPH), ferric reducing antioxidant potential (FRAP) and (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity)(ORAC).

...Show More Authors

New Schiff-base ligands bearing tetrazole moiety and their polymeric metal complexes with Co(II), Ni(II) and Cd(II) ions are reported. Ligands were prepared in a multiple-step reaction. The reaction of sodium 2,6- diformylphenolate and cyclohexane-1,3-dione with 5-amino-2-fluorobenzonitrile resulted in the isolation of two precursors sodium 2,6-bis((E)-(3-cyano-4-fluorophenylimino)methyl)-4-methylphenolate 1 and 5,5'- (1E,1'E)-cyclohexane-1,3-diylidenebis- (azan-1-yl-1-ylidene)bis(2-fluorobenzonitrile) 2, respectively. The reaction of precursors with azide gave the required ligands; sodium 2,6-bis((E)-(4-fluoro-3-(1H-tetrazol-5- yl)phenylimino)methyl)-4-methylphenolate (NaL) and (N,N'E,N,N'E)-N,N'-(cyclohexane-1,3-diylidene)bis(4- fluoro-3-
