This study took place during the first semester 2006-2007 at the same time the Jordanian universities were getting ready to receive the American team sent by QAA to check out the defects in the educational system of these universities, the researchers concentrated on the practical study more the than the theoretical study, the theoretical study covered the understanding of quality & quality in education as well as the authorities responsible for the regulations & quality standards such as QAA ,JMOHE, Al-Hussein Fund For Excellence. The main problem which faced the Jordanian private universities was the conflict in objectives between profitability & qualitative output which was because of lack of long tem strategic planning & ignorance of MOHE to its duties.
Phytoremediation is one of the methods to remove various types of pollutants from water and soil using plants. Salvinia molesta, an aquatic plant, is chosen in this study to determine its ability to degrade diesel as the pollutant in synthetic wastewater with different diesel concentrations (0, 8,700, 17,400, and 26,100 mg/L) for 14 days. Total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) has been used as an indicator to represent diesel concentration variation in wastewater. Degradation of TPH was 85.1% for diesel concentration of 8,700 mg/L, compared with only 53.9% in the corresponding control without plant. The following ions concentrations were measured (Br-, Cl-, F-, NO3-, SO42-, Na+, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+), pH and the electrical conductivity were measured and the results were compared with the allowable rates according to the international organizations. The present study aimed to determine the serum sex hormone levels among Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) patients before and after 3 months of oral administration of 5-α reductase inhibitor(finasteride). Forty BPH patients and 40 healthy men from Amara city were involved in this study, their ages were between 40-59 year.
