Function of Urban Space in strengthen social interaction through Time
...Show More Authors

problem of the research is the decline of the role of urban space with time as an influential system in societal relations. The research aims to define indicators for achieving social interaction in the city, and to determine indicators for achieving integration in the urban space, and to study the relationship between the integration of urban space and community interaction over time. the research assumed that by distinguishing the social interaction space from the urban space and developing urban spaces in order to be truly interactive spaces, this will help us achieve social interaction and build a positive relationship between them, which enables us to achieve integration within the urban spaces leading to social interaction. Because the current trend that many have noticed is the diminution of these urban spaces rather than their extension. As a general methodology for the research, the descriptive analytical method was adopted, and people were polled about the urban spaces chosen from the study area, and the GIS program was used to map and analyze maps through satellite images for three years different from the study area. The theoretical framework of the research included four chapters. In the first chapter. The concept of space, place, public spaces and its planning and social interactions in urban public places were reviewed. As for the second chapter, the concept of social interaction, the results of social interaction, and the theories explaining the processes of social interaction, social interaction, environment and time are explained. The third chapter is about time, its definition, its philosophy and the sense of it and time and space. As for the practical framework for the research, which represented the last chapter is a survey of the

selected places in the study area. The research reached the following main conclusions:

  • The presence of multiple activities such as commercial, cultural and recreational activity and the presence of restaurants and cafes on the Inner Karrada Street led to an urban gathering, and a large daily communicational and social interaction in this street and from all segments of society and residents of the eastern Karrada region and residents of all areas of the city of Baghdad as well as from the provinces of Iraq.

  • There is significant overlap and compactness of land uses in the study area, such as residential use with commercial, industrial, educational, health, administrative, and other uses, due to the importance of the study area and the importance of its strategic location as it is in the center of Baghdad.

Soil-Structure Interaction of Retaining Walls under Earthquake Loads
...Show More Authors

The study is devoted to both static and earthquake response analysis of retaining structures acted upon by lateral earth pressure. Two main approaches were implemented in the analysis, namely, the Mononobe-Okabe analytical method and the numerical Finite element procedure as provided in the ready software ABAQUS with explicit dynamic method. A basic case study considered in the present work is the bridge approach retaining walls as a part of AL-Jadiriya bridge intersection to obtain the effects of the backfill and the ground water on the retaining wall response including displacement of the retaining structure in addition to the behavior of the fill material. Parametric studies were carried out to evaluate the effects of several factors

An Experimental Study of the Server-based Unfairness Solutions for the Cross-Protocol Scenario of Adaptive Streaming over HTTP/3 and HTTP/2
...Show More Authors

Since the introduction of the HTTP/3, research has focused on evaluating its influences on the existing adaptive streaming over HTTP (HAS). Among these research, due to irrelevant transport protocols, the cross-protocol unfairness between the HAS over HTTP/3 (HAS/3) and HAS over HTTP/2 (HAS/2) has caught considerable attention. It has been found that the HAS/3 clients tend to request higher bitrates than the HAS/2 clients because the transport QUIC obtains higher bandwidth for its HAS/3 clients than the TCP for its HAS/2 clients. As the problem originates from the transport layer, it is likely that the server-based unfairness solutions can help the clients overcome such a problem. Therefore, in this paper, an experimental study of the se

The model reveals that the Theories of Planned Behaviour (TPB) and Social Support Theory (SST) alongside satisfaction and perceived value factors promote social capital development in energy sectors. Using PLS-SEM to analyse data gathered from energy sector employees in Malaysia, this research demonstrates that social capital is present when there is trust and loyalty among the users and positively effects en

Manifestation, implicitness, and the interaction of Quranic discourse systems - a stylistic study

Stylistics represents a modern approach in understanding the literary text through the linguistic patterns that form it. The distinctive phenomena that the text includes constitute special features in it. As well as exploring its aesthetic aspects through description and analysis at the same time. The close link between stylistics and linguistics made stylistics occupy a prominent place in modern literary criticism.
In this regard, we do not want to dwell on the different directions of stylistics. Rather, we will prolong the discussion in the study of the style as a (deviation. Aversion) from the original. The approach of greening existing buildings, is an urgent necessity, because the greening operation provides the speed and optimal efficiency in the environmental performance, as well as keeping up with the global green architecture revolution. Therefore, greening existing buildings in Iraq is important for trends towards renewable energies, because of what the country went through economic conditions and crises and wars which kept the country away from what took place globally in this issue. The research problem is: insufficient knowledge about the importance and the mechanism of the greening of existing buildings, including its environmental and economic dimensions, by rationalization of energy consumption and preservi
