The city of Derna has distinctive architectural and architectural features, like other Arab and Islamic cities in the Arab West and North Africa. Old markets represent the architectural and planning heritage associated with local economic, social and environmental influences. This phenomenon has been closely linked to the commercial dimension of the city with its demographic and spatial dimensions. The process for preparing activated carbon (AC) made from tea residue was described in this paper. Investigated were the physicochemical characteristics and adsorption efficiency of the produced AC. Activation with potassium hydroxide (KOH) and carbonization at 350 °C are the two key steps in the manufacturing of AC. The activated carbon was used to adsorb Tetracycline (TC).
