hemorrhagic fever (VHF), one of which is Filoviridae. The Filoviridae family includes the Ebola virus , is responsible for the current VHF outbreak in West Africa. Viral hemorrhagic fevers (VHFs) occur in various regions around the world, yet traditional diagnostic testing for these diseases has typically been conducted in major reference laboratories located in Europe and the United States. In this review, we explore the current understanding of the mechanisms driving the pathogenesis of viral hemorrhagic fevers (VHFs) and examine the progress in developing preventive and therapeutic strategies for these infections.

In this paper, an efficient method for compressing color image is presented. It allows progressive transmission and zooming of the image without need to extra storage. The proposed method is going to be accomplished using cubic Bezier surface (CBI) representation on wide area of images in order to prune the image component that shows large scale variation. Then, the produced cubic Bezier surface is subtracted from the image signal to get the residue component. Then, bi-orthogonal wavelet transform is applied to decompose the residue component. Rate of zinc consumption during the cathodic protection of copper pipeline which carries saline water was measured by weight loss technique in the absence and presence of bacteria. Variables studied were solution flow rate, temperature, time and NaCl concentration. It was found that within the present range of variables; the rate of zinc consumption increases with the increase of all operating conditions. The presence of bacteria increases the zinc consumption. This article aims to estimate the partially linear model by using two methods, which are the Wavelet and Kernel Smoothers. Simulation experiments are used to study the small sample behavior depending on different functions, sample sizes, and variances. Results explained that the wavelet smoother is the best depending on the mean average squares error criterion for all cases that used.
