Deterioration Model for Sewer Network Asset Management in Baghdad City (case study Zeppelin line)
...Show More Authors

Asset management involves efficient planning of economic and technical performance characteristics of infrastructure systems. Managing a sewer network requires various types of activities so the network can be able to achieve a certain level of performance. During the lifetime of the network various components will start to deteriorate leading to bad performance and can damage the infrastructure. The main objective of this research is to develop deterioration models to provide an assessment tool for determining the serviceability of the sewer networks in Baghdad city the Zeppelin line was selected as a case study, as well as to give top management authorities the appropriate decision making. Different modeling techniques were used based on statistical methods such as discriminant, and artificial neural network (ANN) which were used to build the deterioration models. The results of the discriminant model gave correct classification of 68.9% for the condition class of this line. The main significant influencing variables that play an important role in sewer networks were: sewer age, planning, performance and maintenance which is known as the Management function. From ANN model the confusion matrix gave correct classification of 76.7% and MSE 0.128.This study providing a good source of information for future planning.

The Detection of Silent Celiac Disease In patients With Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus by the use of Anti Tissue Transglutaminase Antibodies
...Show More Authors

Objective: Detection the presumptive prevalence of silent celiac disease in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus with determination of which gender more likely to be affected.
Methods: One hundred twenty asymptomatic patients [75 male , 45 female] with type 1 diabetes mellitus with mean age ± SD of 11.25 ± 2.85 year where included in the study . All subjects were serologically screened for the presence of anti-tissue transglutaminase IgA antibodies (anti-tTG antibodies) by Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) & total IgA was also measured for all using radial immunodiffusion plate . Anti-tissue transglutaminase IgG was selectively done for patients who were expressing negative anti-tissue transglutaminase IgA with low tot

Salmonella is approved as a common foodborne pathogen, causing major health problems throughout the world particularly in low‐ and middle‐income countries. Low-level fluoroquinolone resistance is conferred by both chromosomal and plasmid-encoded resistance, this research was carried out look into the occurrence rate of qnrA,qnrB and qnrS genes  in  Salmonella enterica serotype Typhi Cipr  ofloxacin-resistant insulate from blood samples of patients with typhoid fever. Fifteen Salmonella enterica serotype Typhi isolated previously from patients with typhoid fever were included in this study. All bacterial isolates were confirmed to have ciprofloxacin

The association of combined GSTM1, GSTT1, and GSTP1 genetic polymorphisms with lung cancer risk in male Iraqi Waterpipe Tobacco (Nargila) smokers
...Show More Authors

Mutations in genes encoding proteins necessary for detoxifying oxidative stress products have been predicted to increase susceptibility to lung cancer (LC). Despite this, the association between waterpipe tobacco smoking (WP), genetic polymorphisms, and LC risk remains poorly understood. This is the first study to explore the relationship between WP tobacco smoking and these genetic factors. Previously, we investigated the association of GSTP1 SNPs (rs1695-A/G and rs1138272-C/T) with LC in Iraqi males who smoke WP. Here, we expanded our analysis to include GSTM1 (active/null) and GSTT1 (active/null) genotypes, both individually and in combination with GSTP1 SNPs. Multiplex PCR and RFLP-PCR assays were utilized to determine the genotypes of

The association between the genes LPL Ser447Ter, CMA1-1903A > G, FTO rs9939609 and obesity in the Rostov region from Russia
...Show More Authors

Introduction: Due to the high prevalence of diseases associated with obesity. There are several factors, including the genetic factors, it is known that the genes Fat mass and obesity-associated FTO rs9939609, the lipoprotein lipase (LPL) Ser447Ter, and the chymase 1 (CMA1) -1903A > G are associated with lipoprotein metabolism. The aim of the present investigation was to study the association of the FTO, LPL, and CMA1 genes with obesity in the children and adolescents population of the Rostov region, Russia. Methods: In a case-control study involving 500 children and adolescents aged from 3 to 17 years, the association between the genetic polymorphisms of the FTO rs9939609, LPL Ser447Ter (rs328) and CMA1 -1903A > G (rs1800875) with the obes

The aim of this research is to construct a cognitive behavior program based on the theory of Meichenbaum in reducing the emotional sensitivity among Intermediate school students. To achieve the aims of the research, two hypotheses were formulated and the experimental design with equal groups was chosen. The population of research and its sample are determined. The test of negative emotional sensitivity, which is constructed by the researcher, was adopted. The test contains (20) items proved validity and reliability as a reliable test by presenting it to a group of arbitrators and experts in education and psychology. An educational program is constructed based on the theory of Meichenbaum. The test was applied to a sample of (60) second i
