Effect of Design Parameters and Support Conditions on Natural Frequency of Pipe Excited by a Turbulent Internal Flow
...Show More Authors

In this study, the effect of design parameters such as pipe diameter, pipe wall thickness, pipe material and the effect of fluid velocity on the natural frequency of fluid-structure interaction in straight pipe conveying fully developed turbulent flow were investigate numerically, analytically and experimentally. Also the effect of support conditions, simply-simply and clamped-clamped was investigated. Experimentally, pipe vibrations were characterized by accelerometer mounted on the pipe wall. The natural frequencies of vibration were analyzed by using Fast Fourier Transformer (FFT). Five test sections of two different pipe diameters of 76.2
mm and 50.8 mm with two pipe thicknesses of 3.7 mm and 2.4 mm and two pipe materials, stainless steel and polyvinyl chloride PVC in the range of Reynolds numbers from 4*104 to 5*105 were studied. Mathematically, the governing continuity and momentum equations were solved numerically by using the finite volume method to compute the characteristics of two dimensional turbulent flow. The dynamics of a pipe conveying fluid was described by the Transfer Matrix Method (TMM) which is provides a numerical technique for solving the equations of pipe vibrations for simply-simply and clamped supports. The results showed that, the natural frequencies increase with pipe diameter increase and the natural frequencies slightly increases with pipe wall thickness increase. Also, the natural frequencies in clamped-clamped supported pipe are higher than those in simply-simply supported pipe.

Production of Hydrogen and Nanocarbon by Catalytic Decomposition of Electrocracking Gas over an Industrial Catalyst under Integrated Reactor Conditions
...Show More Authors

Hydrogen and nanocarbon were produced by the catalytic decomposition of electrocracking gas obtained by the pyrolysis of liquid organic waste via electric arc discharge. The GIAP-16 (NiO-Al2O3) industrial catalyst was used to reduce the maximum decomposition temperature to 700 °C. In a fixed-bed reactor, under atmospheric pressure, reasonable amounts of high-purity hydrogen were produced, accompanied by deposits of nanocarbon by-product. The NiO-Al2O3 catalyst showed excellent catalytic activity. X-ray powder diffraction analysis of the NiO-Al2O3 composite revealed the presence of cubic NiO and rhombohedral Al2O3, which were chemically stable. However, above 500 °C, NiAl2O4 began to appear. The specific surface area of the catalyst was de

Flow from a source above a sloping base

We consider the outflow of water from the peak of a triangular ridge into a channel of finite depth. Solutions are computed for different flow rates and bottom angles. A numerical method is used to compute the flow from the source for small values of flow rate and it is found that there is a maximum flow rate beyond which steady solutions do not seem to exist. Limiting flows are computed for each geometrical configuration. One application of this work is as a model of saline water being returned to the ocean after desalination. References Craya, A. The Thermal Properties of Gliding arc Plasma Produced by Laboratory Reverse Vortex Flow System
...Show More Authors

A low-cost reverse flow plasma system powered by argon gas pumping was built using homemade materials in this paper. The length of the resulting arc change was directly proportional to the flow rate, while using the thermal camera to examine the thermal intensity distribution and demonstrating that it is concentrated in the centre, away from the walls at various flow rates, the resulting arc's spectra were also measured. The results show that as the gas flow rate increased, so did the ambient temperature. The results show that the medium containing the arc has a maximum temperature of 34.1 ˚C at a flow rate of 14 L/min and a minimum temperature of 22.6 ˚C at a flow rate of 6 L/min.

Abstract
Structural buildings consist of concrete and steel, and these buildings have confronted many challenges from various aggressive environments against the materials manufactured from them. It contains high water levels and buildings whose concrete cover may be damaged and thus lead to the deterioration and corrosion of steel. It was important to have an alternative to steel, such as the glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP), which is distinguished by its great effectiveness in resisting corrosion, as well as its strong tensile resistance. Still, one of its drawbacks is that it has a low modulus of elasticity. This research article aims to conduct a numerical study using the nonlinear fi
... Show More

Effect of Welded Joints Design on the Joint Strength During Statie and Dynamie Loading with Different Current and Type of Wire Welding
...Show More Authors

The aim of this research is to study the effect of welded joint design (Butt joint and lap joint) on thejoint strength during tension and fatigue loading with different current of welding (40,50,60,70,80) ^per, and different type of wire welding. The result of this research is showed that the effect of fatigue loading on the type of joint is more than the effect of tension loading on it. And the butt joint welding is better than the lap joint welding during the fatigue loaded. The experimental results of the effect of W'elding current showed that more increasing and more decreasing the value of the heat input, during the welding was found to produce mechanical brittleness on the buttjoint welding during the static and dynamic loading. The present work involved a study the effect of cobalt(II) complex with formula [CoL(H2O)NO3] .4ETOH where L=Nitro [5-(P-nitro phenyl) -4-phenyl-1,2,4 traizole-3-dithiocarbamato hydrazide] aqua. (4) Ethanol and anti-cancer drug - cyclophosphamide on specific activity of two liver enzymes (GPT,ALP) by utilizing an in vivo system in female mice. On the enzymatic level an inhibition in the activity of GPT was noticed in different body organs such as liver, kidney and lung. The inhibition was noticed in both test and cyclophosphamide drug (cp). Mice were treated with three doses of cyclophosphamide (90,180, 250) ?g/ mouse for three days. The same doses were used for the cobalt (II) complex. The liver shows the highest rate of(GPT) inhibition co
