A numerical method is developed to obtain two-dimensional velocity and pressure distribution through a cylindrical pipe with cross jet flows. The method is based on solving partial differential equations for the conservation of mass and momentum by finite difference method to convert them into algebraic equations. This well-known problem is used to introduce the basic concepts of CFD including: the finite- difference mesh, the discrete nature of the numerical solution, and the dependence of the result on the mesh refinement. Staggered grid implementation of the numerical model is used. The set of algebraic equations is solved simultaneously by “SIMPLE” algorithm to obtain velocity and pressure distribution within a pipe. In order to verify the validity for present code, the flow behavior predicted by this code is compared with these of another studies and there is a good agreement is obtained
Avery large numbers of articles are made by powder metallurgical methods using electrolytically reduced metal powders. Iron powder is one of these powders which play an important role in this field. Its preparation by electrolytic method is economic in comparison with the traditional methods (Atomization and carbonyl processes).
An electrochemical cell consisting of two electrodes (stainless steel cathode and iron anode, 99.9%) was used to study the electrolytic preparation of iron powder with particle size less than 106µm directly as powde1y form. Ferrous sulphate electrolyte was used containing sodium chloride as a stabilizing agent. The produced powder was thoroughly washed with an acidified distilled water and absolute ethan

However, major challenges in terms of exploration and production surround profitable and effective exploitation of these reserves. The measurement of acoustic velocity is a useful method for exploration of gas hydrate reserves and can be an efficient method to characterize the hydrate-bearing sediments. In this study, the compressional wave velocity (P-wave velocity) of consolidated sediments (Bentheimer) with and without tetrahydrofuran hydrate-bearing pore fillings were measured using the pulse transmission method. The study has found that the P-wave velocity of consolidated sediments increase with increasing hydrate format

Show MoreBackground: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the care of multiple trauma victims with maxillofacial injuries in terms of epidemiological distributions, types of injuries, the related different modalities of surgical treatments delivered, and their complications. Materials and Methods: This prospective study was performed on 50 patients with multiple traumas including maxillofacial injuries, caused by different etiological factors, who were brought first to the surgical emergencies department of the Medical City then referred to the Maxillofacial unit in the Specialized Surgeries Hospital, Baghdad, Iraq, during the period from April 2007 to April 2008. Information was documented prospectively from the time of the emergency call to

A proper Submodule Y of an R-Module W is semismall in W(Y ≪_S W) if Y = 0 or Y/F ≪ W/F ∀ nonzero Submodules F of Y. A Submodule U of an R-Module E is essentially semismall(U ≪es E), if for every non zero semismall Submodule V of E, V∩U ≠ 0. An R-Module E is essentially semismall quasi-Dedekind(ESSQD) if Hom(E/W, E) = 0 ∀ W ≪es E. A ring R is ESSQD if R is an ESSQD R-Module. An R-Module E is a scalar R-Module if, ∀ , ∃ s.t V(e) = ze ∀ . In this paper, we study the relationship between ESSQD Modules with scalar and multiplication Modules. We show that

Show MoreIn this investigation, Rayleigh–Ritz method is used to calculate the natural frequencies of rectangular isotropic and laminated symmetric and anti-symmetric cross and angle ply composite plate with general elastic supports along its edges. Each of the admissible functions here is composed of a trigonometric function and an arbitrary continuous function that is introduced to ensure the sufficient smoothness of the so-called residual displacement function at the edges. Perhaps more importantly, this study has developed a general approach for deriving a complete set of admissible functions that can be applied to various boundary conditions. Several numerical examples are studied to demonstrate the accuracy and convergence of the current s

Show MoreAn efficient combination of Adomian Decomposition iterative technique coupled with Laplace transformation to solve non-linear Random Integro differential equation (NRIDE) is introduced in a novel way to get an accurate analytical solution. This technique is an elegant combination of theLaplace transform, and the Adomian polynomial. The suggested method will convert differential equations into iterative algebraic equations, thus reducing processing and analytical work. The technique solves the problem of calculating the Adomian polynomials. The method’s efficiency was investigated using some numerical instances, and the findings demonstrate that it is easier to use than many other numerical procedures. It has also been established that (LT

Protein isolate was used in manufacturing meat burger with two substitution10 and 20%. The shrinkage percentage for burger diameter was decreased from 25.5 to 16.6%, the sample with 10% substitution was distinguished in water holding capacity (WHC) which was 54.52%. Sensitive evaluation for these samples showed that the burger with 10% substitution was similar to the control.
In this paper, a Cholera epidemic model is proposed and studied analytically as well as numerically. It is assumed that the disease is transmitted by contact with Vibrio cholerae and infected person according to dose-response function. However, the saturated treatment function is used to describe the recovery process. Moreover, the vaccine against the disease is assumed to be utterly ineffective. The existence, uniqueness and boundedness of the solution of the proposed model are discussed. All possible equilibrium points and the basic reproduction number are determined. The local stability and persistence conditions are established. Lyapunov method and the second additive compound matrix are used to study the global stability of the system.
