Effect of Petroleum Products on Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete

This Investigation aims to study the effect of adding Steel fibers with different volume fractions Vf (o.5, 0.75, and 1% by volume of concrete) with aspect ratio 100 on mechanical properties of concrete, and also
finding the influence of petroleum products (Kerosene and Diesel) on mechanical properties of Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete (SFRC).
The experimental work consists of two groups: group one consists of specimens (cubes and prisms) plain and concrete reinforced with steel fiber exposed to continuous curing with water. Group two consists of
specimens (cubes and prisms) plain and concrete reinforced with steel fiber exposed to kerosene and diesel after curing them in water for 28 days before exposure. The results of all tests refer that the specimens (plain and reinforced concrete with steel fiber with different volume fraction) exposed to kerosene were better than the specimens (plain and reinforced concrete with steel fiber with different volume fraction) exposed to diesel.

Effect of operation conditions on Catalytic Oxidation of Phenol in Aqueous Solution

This work was conducted to study the oxidation of phenol in aqueous solution using copper based catalyst with zinc as promoter and different carrier, i.e. γ-Alumina and silica. These catalysts were prepared by impregnation method.
The effect of catalyst composition, pH (5.6-9), phenol to catalyst concentration ratio (2-0.5), air feed rate (30-50) ml/s, stirring speed (400-800) rpm, and temperature (80-100) °C were examined in order to find the best conditions for phenol conversion.
The best operating conditions which lead to maximum phenol conversion (73.1%) are : 7.5 pH, 4/6 phenol to catalyst concentration, 40 ml/s air feed rate, 600 rpm stirring speed, and 100 °C reaction temperature. The reaction involved an induction period

They were then used to explore how photothermal treatment may be used to treat lung cancer (A549) and normal cells (REF) <i>in vitro</i>. The anti-proliferative activity of these nanoparticles was studied after A549 cells were treated with (AgNPs) at various concentrations (100&#37;, 50&#37;, or 25&#37;) and exposure times (6 or 8 min) of laser after 1 h or 24 h from exposed AgNPs. Effect of exercises on the VertiMax device on the endurance of under 16-years of age discus throwers

The primary aim of the present study was to prepare a set of exercises on the multi-resistor VertiMax device and to identify the effect of these exercises on the development of the endurance of discus throwers under 16 years old. The design of the present study was experimental. Participants were selected using purposive sampling method. A total of 5 discuss players constituted the sample of the study. The authors found a significant improvement in the levels of endurance and performance as a result of the training on the VertiMax device. Therefore, it is recommendable to use exercises on the VertiMax device to improve the endurance and performance of under 16-years of age discus throwers.
