Risk Response in Construction Project: A Review Study
...Show More Authors

Construction projects are characterized as projects with multi phases and activities, complex, unique, and have many different parties and stakeholders. Risks could appear at one or more of the construction project stages and may affect the achievement of project objectives. Therefore, one of the key elements in the planning phase of any project is the risk management process (RMP). This study attempts to understand the terminology of risk in general, risk management, and response to risk in particular. This study is mainly a review of thirty-eight studies that have been published between 1997 and 2020 that demonstrate the importance of the crucial phase of risk response from the risk management process and its impact on the project objectives, as well as the tools and methodologies that project managers and decision-makers could use to handle the risks to reduce the negative effects of risks on the success of the construction projects. This study concludes that risk response should be considered an essential activity to complete the RMP, which will lead to minimizing the losses due to risks, maximizing the benefits due to opportunities, and achieving the objectives of projects.

Review Recent Developments In High-Power Diode Lasers For Biomedical Applications
...Show More Authors

Diode laser technology is well established for biomedicine applications which demand high-power pulse-wave. They are extensively utilized from medical imaging and testing to surgical therapies and the latest aesthetic processes. For medical therapeutic practices, diode lasers have become the ideal laser source for this particular purpose. In the last previous years, semiconductor laser technology has evolved to produce high-repetitions rate near-infrared pulsed lasers diodes that are dependable, low-cost, portable, and small-weight, about few grams. In this paper, we review the recent development and demonstration of diode laser devices for biomedical applications recorded in the latest years taking into account the power, wavelength, and p

Maternal Risk Factors and Outcomes of Premature Neonates Admitted to the Neonatal Care Unit in AlElwiya Pediatric Teaching Hospital in Baghdad, Iraq
...Show More Authors

Background: Prematurity and its complications are the major causes of neonatal and infant morbidity and mortality. Although the cause of preterm labor is often unknown, numerous etiological risk factors may be implicated. To identify the risk factors that lead to prematurity and assess the neonatal outcomes that preterm neonates may develop. Methods: This case-control study was conducted at AL-Elwiya Pediatric Teaching Hospital, Baghdad, Iraq, from the 1st of June to the 31st of December 2019. A non-randomized sample of 700 neonates admitted to the neonatal care unit was included in this study and divided into two groups of preterm full-term neonates as the experimental and control groups, respectively (n=350 each). The same questionnaire w

A Suggested Model for Using a Students Attendance Management Information Systems/ A Case Study In Lebanese French University/ Erbil
...Show More Authors

This study aims to design unified  electronic information system to manage students attendance in Lebanese French university/Erbil, as a system that simplifies the process of entering and counting the students absence, and generate absence reports to expel students who passed  the acceptable limit of being absent, and by that we can replace the traditional way of  using papers to count absence,  with  a complete electronically system for managing students attendance, in a way that makes the results accurate and unchangeable by the students.

In order to achieve the study's objectives, we designed an information syst

Politeness: A Socio- Pragmatic Study
...Show More Authors

The most influential theory of ‘Politeness’ was formulated in 1978 and revised in 1987 by Brown and Levinson. ‘Politeness’, which represents the interlocutors’ desire to be pleasant to each other through a positive manner of addressing, was claimed to be a universal phenomenon. The gist of the theory is the intention to mitigate ‘Face’ threats carried by certain ‘Face’ threatening acts towards others.

‘Politeness Theory’ is based on the concept that interlocutors have ‘Face’ (i.e., self and public – image) which they consciously project, try to protect and to preserve. The theory holds that various politeness strategies are used to prot

Braille Character Recognition System: Review
...Show More Authors

The Braille Recognition System is the process of capturing a Braille document image and turning its content into its equivalent natural language characters. The Braille Recognition System's cell transcription and Braille cell recognition are the two basic phases that follow one another. The Braille Recognition System is a technique for locating and recognizing a Braille document stored as an image, such as a jpeg, jpg, tiff, or gif image, and converting the text into a machine-readable format, such as a text file. BCR translates an image's pixel representation into its character representation. As workers at visually impaired schools and institutes, we profit from Braille recognition in a variety of ways. The Braille Recognition S
