Rate of penetration plays a vital role in field development process because the drilling operation is expensive and include the cost of equipment and materials used during the penetration of rock and efforts of the crew in order to complete the well without major problems. It’s important to finish the well as soon as possible to reduce the expenditures. So, knowing the rate of penetration in the area that is going to be drilled will help in speculation of the cost and that will lead to optimize drilling outgoings. In this research, an intelligent model was built using artificial intelligence to achieve this goal. The model was built using adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system to predict the rate of penetration in Mishrif formation in Nasiriya oil field for the selected wells. The mean square error for the results obtained from the ANFIS model was 0.015. The model was trained and simulated using MATLAB and Simulink platform. Laboratory measurements were conducted on core samples selected from two wells. Ultrasonic device was used to measure the transit time of compressional and shear waves and to compare these results with log records. Ten wells in Nasiriya oil field had been selected based on the availability of the data. Dynamic elastic properties of Mishrif formation in the selected wells were determined by using Interactive Petrophysics (IP V3.5) software and based on the las files and log records provided. The average rate of penetration of the studied wells was determined and listed against depth with the average dynamic elastic properties and fed into the fuzzy system. The average values of bulk modulus for the ten wells ranged between (20.57) and (27.57) . For shear modulus, the range was from (8.63) to (12.95) GPa. Also, the Poisson’s ratio values varied from (0.297) to (0.307). For the first group of wells (NS-1, NS-3, NS-4, NS-5, and NS-18), the ROP values were taken from the drilling reports and the lowest ROP was at the bottom of the formation with a value of (3.965) m/hrs while the highest ROP at the top of the formation with a value (4.073) m/hrs. The ROP values predicted by the ANFIS for this group were (3.181) m/hrs and (4.865) m/hrs for the lowest and highest values respectively. For the second group of wells (NS-9, NS-15, NS-16, NS-19, and NS-21), the highest ROP obtained from drilling reports was (4.032) m/hrs while the lowest value was (3.96) m/hrs. For the predicted values by ANFIS model were (2.35) m/hrs and (4.3) m/hrs for the lowest and highest ROP values respectively.
Wireless channels are typically much more noisy than wired links and subjected to fading due to multipath propagation which result in ISI and hence high error rate. Adaptive modulation is a powerful technique to improve the tradeoff between spectral efficiency and Bit Error Rate (BER). In order to adjust the transmission rate, channel state information (CSI) is required at the transmitter side.
In this paper the performance enhancement of using linear prediction along with channel estimation to track the channel variations and adaptive modulation were examined. The simulation results shows that the channel estimation is sufficient for low Doppler frequency shifts (<30 Hz), while channel prediction is much more suited at

Show MoreObjectives: To quantify the reproducibility of the drill calibration process in dynamic navigation guided placement of dental implants and to identify the human factors that could affect the precision of this process in order to improve the overall implant placement accuracy. Methods: A set of six drills and four implants were calibrated by three operators following the standard calibration process of NaviDent® (ClaroNav Inc.). The reproducibility of the position of each tip of a drill or implant was calculated in relation to the pre-planned implants’ entry and apex positions. Intra- and inter-operator reliabilities were reported. The effects of the drill length and shape on the reproducibility of the calibration process were also invest

It is commonly used for controlling systems with uncertain time-varying unknown parameters. The effectiveness of L1 adaptive controller for position control of single axis has been examined and compared with Model Reference Adaptive Controller (MRAC). The Linear servo motor is one of the main constituting elements of the x-y table which is mostly used in automation application. It is characterized by time-varying friction and disturbance.
The tracking and steady state performances of both controllers have been assessed fo

Studying these variables, we find mathematical formula to get the joint distribution and the copula that are a useful and good tool to find the amount of correlation, where the survival function was used to measure the relationship of age with the level of cretonne in the remaining blood of the person. The Spss program was also used to extract the influencing variables from a group of variables using factor analysis and then using the Clayton copula function that is used to find the shared binary distributions using multivariate distributions, where the bivariate distribution was calculated, and then the survival function value was calculated for a sample size (50) drawn from Yarmouk Ho

In this research the changes in water levels are observed by calculating the areas of five different lakes in five different regions and two different marshes in two different regions of the country, in a period of 12 years (2001 - 2012), archived remotely sensed images were used to determine surface areas around lakes and marshes in Iraq for the chosen years . Level of the lakes corresponding to satellite determined surface areas were retrieved from remotely sensed data .These data were collected to give explanations on lake level and surface area fluctuations. Show MoreThe ground charge density distributions (CDD), elastic charge form factors and proton, charge, neutron, and matter root mean square (rms) radii for stable 40Ca and 48Ca have been calculated using single-particle radial wave functions of Woods-Saxon (WS) and harmonic-oscillator (HO) potentials. Different central potential depths are used for each subshell which is adjusted so as to reproduce the experimental single-nucleon binding energies. An excellent agreement between the calculated rms charge radii and experimental data are found for both nuclei using WS and HO potentials. The calculated proton rms radii for 40Ca are found to be in good agreement with experiment data using both WS and HO potentials while the results for 48Ca showed an ov
