Seven leafhoppers (Cicadeilidae). and one plantboppei (Delpbacidae), Homoptera were identified from a one year operated light trap at the College of Agiculture farm in Abu¬Ghraib. The leafhoppers were: Balclutha hortensis Lind.; B. rufaofasciata Merine.; psammctettix alien us Dahlbem.; P. striatus L.; Extianus capicola.; Neoaliturus haematoceps H. R.; and Orozius albicnctus Dist. The planthopper was Sogatella vibix Haupt. one year records of their populations, indicated that B. rufofasciata occured during the fall from October 10 until December 18; E. capicola from October 24 until November 21 and again in the summer from March to October. The others occured only during the summer, from the end of March and early April until Mid-September and early October B. horrensis was the most abundant wile O. albicinaus and S. vibix were the least abundant.

Schiff bases (SBs) based on amino acid derivative stand for multipurpose ligands that formed by condensing amino acids with carbonyl groups. They are significant in pharmaceutical and medical areas due to their widespread biological actions such as antiseptic, antifungal, along with antitumor actions. Transition metallic complexes resulting from SB ligands with biological activity were extensively experimented in the literature. In this article, we review, in details, about synthesizing and biological performances of SBs along with its complexes.
Trimethoprim derivative Schiff bases are versatile ligands synthesized with carbonyl groups from the condensation of primary amines (amino acids). Because of their broad range of biological activity, these compounds are very important in the medical and pharmaceutical fields. The Mesopotamian marshlands faced a massive destruction from many years and this lead to effect to ecosystem. In this study a survey was made on the physical chemical and heavy metals characteristics and microbiological analysis of AL Chibaish marsh during the two months. Water analyses revealed unacceptable values for almost all physiochemical and biological properties, according to WHO standard limits for drinking water. Almost all major ions and heavy metal concentrations in water showed a distinct decreasing trend at the marsh outlet station compared to other stations.
