10.28936 DESTRUCTION OF EXPIRED DRUGS TO ADDRESS ENVIRONMENT-FRIENDLY: DESTRUCTION OF EXPIRED DRUGS TO ADDRESS ENVIRONMENT-FRIENDLY
...Show More Authors

The method of incineration was chosen to treat the most commonly used antimicrobial agents in Iraq (Triclabendazol, Oxfendazol, Mebendazole), which are antibiotics for children. The moisture content and chemical oxygen demand (COD) were examined and the results were (93.34, 94.88, 92.97)%, (52000, 33200, and 64000) mg/ L. The temperature was determined as a variable in the burning process (600, 500, 400)° C for the purpose of calculating the loss of ignition LOI and determining the ideal temperature. The results of the models (Triclabendazol, Oxfendazol, Mebendazole) (94.92, 93.12, 58.81% and 88.87), (62.61, 44.08%, 98.75, 84.98 and 55.086)% respectively. When mixing the three models in equal proportions, the percentage of loss was 92.87%. The analysis of the active aggregates using FTIR device was determined. A diagram of each dryer model was determined before burning and re-examination at each degree after burning. It was observed that the peaks of the model fingerprint and the active aggregates were dissolved and the materials were fully decomposed to carbon at a temperature of 600°C.

Investigating the structural, optical, and thermal behavior of CuCl2 incorporated PVP/glycerin-based polymer electrolytes for energy storage applications
...Show More Authors

Polymer electrolyte films composed of PVP and PVP/glycerin with varying concentrations of CuCl2 (10, 20, and 30 wt.%) were synthesized using the solution casting method. The synthesized electrolyte films were characterized using FTIR, XRD, UV-Vis, DSC, and TGA techniques. FTIR spectroscopy revealed an O-H stretching vibration of PVP around 3300 cm(-1), which experienced broadening and a reduction in intensity upon the introduction of glycerin and CuCl2. XRD analysis displayed a characteristic peak at 2 theta similar to 20 degrees, with the peak shifting towards higher angles and a slight decrease in intensity as the CuCl2 concentration increased, indicating a disruption of the crystalline structure of the host matrix. UV-Vis analysis reveal

Comprehensive study of Cu2⁺-ion conducting PVA/PVP/glycerin-based gel polymer electrolytes: structural, electrical, dielectric, and optical properties
...Show More Authors

This study investigates the impact of copper sulfate (CuSO4) doping and glycerin plasticization on the structural, electrical, dielectric, and optical properties of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA), polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP), and glycerin gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs). The GPEs were prepared using a solution casting method with varying CuSO4 concentrations (5 and 10 wt.%). X-ray diffraction analysis revealed the semi-crystalline nature of the polymer blend and also confirmed the presence of CuSO4. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy confirmed the miscibility of PVA, PVP, and glycerin through interchain hydrogen bonding and indicated the successful incorporation of Cu2+ ions into the polymer blend matrix. The PVA/PVP/glycerin blend containi

The Value of Cardiac Troponin I and Midkine in predicting coronary artery obstruction severity in Chronic Coronary Syndromes (CCS)
...Show More Authors

High-sensitive cardiac troponin I (hs-cTnI) is a recognized marker of myocardial injury in acute coronary syndromes, but its utility in chronic coronary syndromes (CCS) remains unclear. Midkine (MK), a heparin-binding growth factor, plays a role in inflammation and vascular remodeling in atherosclerosis. This cross-sectional study aimed to evaluate the predictive value of serum hs-cTnI and MK in determining the severity of coronary artery obstruction in patients with CCS. The study included 125 subjects undergoing coronary angiography (CAG) at the Iraqi Center of Heart Disease/ Medical City/Baghdad, from March to December 2024. Subjects were classified into three groups based on CAG findings: no CAD, 1- or 2-vessel disease, and 3-ve

EEG-ChTABNet: A Dual-Branch Channel-Wise Transformer with Gated Attention-Branch Network for EEG-Based Classification of Dementia
...Show More Authors

Background/Objectives: Early and accurate discrimination of neurological conditions, dementia, stroke and healthy aging, remains a critical clinical challenge. Electroencephalography (EEG) is a non-invasive measure of brain dynamics and entropy-based features obtained from multichannel EEG have shown strong discriminative ability. However, existing deep learning approaches do not sufficiently address the combined challenges of small clinical cohorts and high-dimensional entropy feature spaces. In this study, a novel architecture is proposed for multi-class neurological EEG classification under extreme small-sample conditions. Methods: A novel dual-branch Channel-wise Transformer and Attention-Branch Network (EEG-ChTABNet) are pr to

EXPERIMENTAL AND SURFACE STUDIES ON THE CORROSION INHIBITION EFFECT OF PLATINUM COMPLEX ON COPPER ALLOY IN NITRIC ACID SOLUTION
...Show More Authors

The objectives of this paper was the development of a novel ligand, L, which was achieved in two stages: ligand is synthesised by reducing the result of the reaction between cyclohexane-1,2-diamine and 4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxycy clohexane-1-carbaldehyde, followed by the production of the 4,4’-((1E,1’E)-(1,2 phenylenebis(azanylylidene))bis(methanylylidene))bis(2,6-dimethoxyphenol) precursor (P). While studying corrosion inhibition (copper alloy) in acid solution by weight loss, compounds were characterised using 1H, 13CNMR (for ligand (L) and (P)), FT-IR and UV spectra, melting point, molar conductivity, %C, %H and %N, %M, and magnetic susceptibility. The complex’s octahedral structure is inferred from the bidentate coordination
