Background: Cytology is one of the important diagnostic tests done on effusion fluid. It can detect malignant cells in up to 60% of malignant cases. The most important benign cell present in these effusions is the mesothelial cell. Mesothelial atypia can be striking andmay simulate metastatic carcinoma. Many clinical conditions may produce such a reactive atypical cells as in anemia,SLE, liver cirrhosis and many other conditions. Recently many studies showed the value of computerized image analysis in differentiating atypical cells from malignant adenocarcinoma cells in effusion smears. Other studies support the reliability of the quantitative analysisand morphometric features and proved that they are objective prognostic indices. Methods: Sixty three cases of pleural and peritoneal smears, previously reported as benign (19) cases, malignant (21) cases or atypical (23) cases, were retrieved from the files. In each of these smears; nuclear area, perimeter, and roundness coefficient of 80-100 cell were determined at x400 magnification by the use of image analysis system. Statistical analysis was performed using analysis of variance and Tukey's HSD test. Results: The mean values of nuclear roundness, nuclear perimeter and nuclear area vary between the three groups (benign, atypical and malignant cells) by using analysis of variance (p > 0.01). The value of nuclear roundness, perimeter and area did not differ significantly between benign and atypical cells (Tukey’s test: p<0.01). On the other hand, the value of nuclear roundness, perimeter and area showed a significant difference between malignant and atypical cells(Tukey's test: p> 0.01). Conclusion: In conclusion, our data suggest that cytomorphometry performed on effusion smear cells may provide important information for the differentiation of atypical cells from malignant cells, in which the values of atypical cells are closer to those of benign cells during the examination of pleural and peritoneal smears by the use of image analysis system
The research aimed to identify and build two specialized scales for cognitive load and mental stress and to identify the level of each of them among 110-meter steeplechase runners among youth, and to prepare a psychological counseling approach to reduce the level of cognitive load and mental stress among 110-meter steeplechase runners among youth, so that the two research hypotheses are that there are differences. There are statistically significant differences between the results of the pre- and post-tests of the experimental group in measuring cognitive load. There are statistically significant differences between the results of the pre- and post-tests of the experimental group in measuring mental stress. The experimental method w

The film was equipped by the utilization of semi-computerized spray pyrolysis technique (SCSPT), it is the first time that this technique is used in the preparation and irradiation using a laser. when the received films were processed by continuous red laser (700 nm) with power (>1000mW) for different laser irradiation time using different number of times a laser scan (0, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 times) with total irradiation time (0,30,45,60,75,90 min) respectively at room temperature.. However, this type of modeling is rarely accurate because a single zone system does not account for the fact that each zone's pressure decreases independently. Pressure drop for each zone has an effect on the total output and would result in inter-flow and the premature depletion of one of the zones. Understanding reservoir performance requires a precise estimation of each layer's permeability and skin factor. The Multilayer Transient Analysis is a well-testing technique designed to determine formation properties in more than one layer, and its effectiveness over the past two decades has been

Scientists from different fields try to seize any available chance to warn people of the risk of consuming and exposing to carcinogens that have, unfortunately, become essential parts of modern life. The present paper attempts to investigate the proximization strategy through which scientists construct carcinogen risk to enhance people’s preventive actions against these carcinogens. The paper targets the construction which depends on producing the conflict between the values of the people themselves and the contrasting values assigned to carcinogens. To achieve this aim, Cap’s (2

Thus, it has become necessary to consider the role of language and its influence on the common beliefs and opinions about rape in the Iraqi society. Thus, taking into consideration the critical role of language and its impact on the perception of human reality and the social development based on people's beliefs and principles of life has become highly indispensable. Therefore. The aim of this article is to address this problem critically from legislation and social norms in NGOs' reports (2015; 2019) with reference to some provisions from the Iraqi Panel Code (1969; 2010). Therefore, the researchers examine the discursive strategies and ideological viewpoints in t

Show MoreRecently, Iraq has experienced more earthquakes, notice that its increased about 62% in 2024 in comparison with same period of 2023, the main aims of this study are to detect the causes and contributing factors of the earthquakes in Iraq. Natural disasters like earthquakes contributes to about 61 %. Also, they are responsible for 94% of all human deaths from natural disasters. The fundamental reasons of earthquakes occur in Iraq due to geological location, which lies on the boundary of the Arabian plate and the Iranian-Eurasian plate. There is much seismic activity in Iraq’s east and north because of the collision of the above plates. Another cause of earthquakes are faults and f
Through the researchers' acquaintance with the previous studies, the problem was identified as that the preparation of training curricula in all its units must be based on accurate scientific foundations. Positively affect the type of attack and its implication in the presence of correlational relations, whether direct or indirect, i.e., precedence in training and in preparing units Therefore, the researcher decided to build a causal model to know the relationships to show the best model of the direct straight attack. The study aimed to build a causal model for the most important physical measurements and kinetic capabilities of the direct straight attack in the research sample.
