Background: Fiber-optic endoscopy is an important
investigation of the large intestine, whether or not the
radiologist (barium enema) has discovered a lesion in
the bowel. Colonoscopy affords a unique opportunity
to direct visualization of entire colonic mucosa. At
the same time, the physician can obtain biopsy specimens, remove polyps, and decompress volvuli.
Most experienced endoscopists and well prepared
patients can reach the cecum in over 90% of patients.
If colonoscopy is properly performed, it has a low
risk of complications, such as perforation and bleeding.
Methods: A total of 70 consecutive patients admitted
to Endoscopy department at Al-Kindy Teaching hospital from September- 2008 to July-2009. Bowel
preparation was achieved with Polyethylene glycol
lavage solution and 165 cm Pentax colonoscope
EC_3385FK 4.2 was used in all cases. All patients
were not sedated or given any other medication
Results:Seventy colonoscopies were performed in
this study. Forty of them were male and the rest were
female. The mean age was 42 years ranging from 4
years to 85 years. The most common indication for
colonoscopy was rectal bleeding (44%) Polyethylene
glycol lavage solution was used in all patients for
bowel preparation. All patients did not receive premedications. Complete colonoscopy examination was
done in (12.8%) of patients, the most common cause
of incomplete examination was poor bowel preparation (50%). No complications were reported.
Conclusions: Rectal bleeding was the most common
indication for colonoscopy. Poor bowel preparation
was the main cause of incomplete colonoscopy
The current research includes the adsorption of Rhodmine-B Dye on the surface of Citrus Leaves using the technique of UV. Vis spectrophotometer to determine data of quantitative adsorption at various contact time, ionic strength, PH and temperature conditions. As a function of temperatures 25,35,45,55 0C, the dsorption phenomenon was examined, and the results showed that Rhodamine-B adsorption Citrus leaves rose with increasing temperatures on the surface (endothermic process). In this paper, an experimental study of the thermal performance for hybrid solar air conditioning system was carried out, to investigate system suitability for the hot climate in Iraq. The system consists of vapor compression unit combined with evacuated tube solar collector and liquid storage tank. In this present paper, an experimental study of some plasma characteristics in dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) system using several variables, such as different frequencies and using two different electrodes metals(aluminium (Al) and copper (Cu)), is represented. The discharge plasma was produced by an AC power supply source of 6 and 7 kHz frequencies for the nitrogen gas spectrum and for two different electrodes metals(Al and Cu). Ground state energies and other properties of 2S shell for some atoms as Be(Z=4), B(Z=5), C(Z=6) and N(Z=7) were calculated by using Hartree-Fock wave function. We found the values of potential energies in hartree unit (3.8369, 6.78565, 10.18852 and 14.41089) respectively and the other proprieties like expectation values of the position < r1m > were in agreement with the published results. All the studied atomic properties were normalized.
