Background: Fetal macrosomia represent a
continuing challenge in obstetrics and increasing in
it's occurrence as well as it is associated with maternal
and perinatal complications.
Objective : To determine the maternal and perinatal
outcome related to fetal macrosomia.
Design: A prospective case control study.
Patients and methods) :10th March-31st May, 2006
A prospective case control study had done over the
period from 10th March to 31st May, 2006 in Al-Batool
maternity teaching hospital in Mosul city .The study
group consisted from 633 singleton alive newborns
with gestational age ≥37weeks weighing 4000 grams
and heavier and mothers of these newborns compared
with control group which consisted from 4155
singleton alive newborn with gestational age
≥37weeks weighing 2500-3999 grams and mothers of
these newborns .The obstetrical outcome variables
which compared between the two groups include mode
of delivery, indication of caesarean section and
maternal and perinatal complications.
Results :
Macrosomic newborns (≥4000grams) delivered in this
study account for (12.45%) of total deliveries.
Newborns with a birth weight of ≥4500grams
constitute 2.65% from all deliveries .Male Newborns
(65.24%) was higher and statistically differed among
the study group (p value=0.001).
Instrumental vaginal delivery (P value=0.010,Odd
ratio :2.12, 95 %CI :1.19-3.76) and cesarean section
delivery (P value=0.000,Odd ratio:1.63, 95 %CI :
1.34-1.98), mainly the emergency cesarean section
(18.79%), were significantly different among the
study group .Failure of progress of labour and
cephalopelvic disproportion were the main indications
in study group and showed statistical significant
difference between the two groups.
Among the study group, there was neither maternal
death nor uterine rupture but there was higher
occurrence of postpartum hemorrhage, genital tract
trauma and shoulder dystocia which were significantly
different when it compared with control group .Erb's
palsy was the main perinatal complication and was
statistically different among macrosomic group (P
value=0.000) .
Conclusion: Fetal macrosomia was associated with
higher rate of instrumental vaginal delivery and
caesarean section mainly due to failure of progress of
labour and cephalopelvic disproportion .There were
higher rate of postpartum haemorrhage, genital tract
trauma as well as shoulder dystocia with neither
maternal death nor uterine rupture in study group .
Among macrosomic newborn, Erb's pulsy was the
main perinatal complication

... Show MoreImage compression is one of the data compression types applied to digital images in order to reduce their high cost for storage and/or transmission. Image compression algorithms may take the benefit of visual sensitivity and statistical properties of image data to deliver superior results in comparison with generic data compression schemes, which are used for other digital data. In the first approach, the input image is divided into blocks, each of which is 16 x 16, 32 x 32, or 64 x 64 pixels. The blocks are converted first into a string; then, encoded by using a lossless and dictionary-based algorithm known as arithmetic coding. The more occurrence of the pixels values is codded in few bits compare with pixel values of less occurre

while the inner cylinder was heated with constant heat flux. The study involved numerical solution of transient momentum (Navier-Stokes) and energy equation using finite difference method (FDM), where the body fitted coordinate system (BFC) was
used to generate the grid mesh for computational plane. The governing equations were transformed to the vorticity-stream function formula as for momentum equations and to the temperature and stream function for energy equation.

Street networks are crucial in shaping the quality of urban life. Through their impact on mobility and social interaction, they play a critical role in shaping how people move around the city and determine the connectivity, accessibility, safety, and convenience of different areas. Thus, it is essential to develop a systematic understanding of street networks to create livable, sustainable, accessible, and equitable cities. The aim of this study is to analyze and develop the role of street networks in shaping urban mobility, connectivity, and accessibility, and thereby enhance sustainable urban living by creating people-centric cities. Quantitative techniques and measures are employed to examine urban structure metrics to understand

Many techniques were proportionated with concentration (peak high to base line, peak to peak and peak area). The linearity of the methodsranged between(1-25µg.ml-1) is obtained. The results were precise and accurate throw RSD% were between (0.041-0.751%) and (0.0331-0.452%), Rec% values between (97.78, 101.87%) and (98.033-102.39%) while the LOD between (0.051-0.231 µg.ml-1) and (0.074-1.04 µg.ml-1) and LOQ between (0.170-0.770µg.ml-1) and (0.074-0.313 µg.ml-1) of (MTZ) and of (MTZB) respectively. Six Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus anginousus were diagnosed in the first and second group of the patients the immune status of the patients and control subject were tested by pathogen specific antibody titre, neotrophil NBT reduction phagocytosis and leukocyte inhibition LIF. Diabetic patients with dentoalveolar infection shows decreased specific antibody titers, subnormal neutrophil NBT phagocytic % as well as non significant LIF % in comparison non diabetic reveal high specific antibody titers against , high neutrophil NBT% and significant LIF% re

Aims of the study is to evaluate immunohistochemical expression of Ki67 and p53 proteins in ACC. Materials and Methods: immunohistochemical analyses of fifteen cases of formalin – fixed paraffin – embedded tissues blocks of ACC of salivary glands using ki67 and p53 antibodies. Results: ki67 was expressed in 6 of 15 ACC (40%) while p53 aberration was demonstrated in 11 of tumor (73.3%). There was a statistically significant difference between the expression of ki67 and p53 proteins in ACC cases (p value = 0.041). Pearson’s cor
