Antenatal diagnosis of myometrial invasion in anterior placenta previa by transabdominal color Doppler ultra sound
...Show More Authors

Background: The incidence of maternal mortality in
placenta previa accrete is 7%,and its preoperative
diagnosis is of a great value.
Objective: to evaluate the efficacy of transabdominal
color Doppler ultrasound in diagnosing placenta
previa accreta and inccreta. Color Doppler imaging
criteria used in: includes diffuse parenchymal
placental lacunar flow, focal intra parenchymal
placental lacunar flow and bladder uterine serosa
interphase hyper-vascularity.
Design: Prospective study on patients from
January2007 to January 2008.
Patients and method: 48patients with one caesarean
section or more and with persistent anterior placenta
previa diagnosed by transabdominal ultrasound were
examined by color Doppler at 32 or more weeks of
gestation to determine the possibility of myometrial
invasion depending on the above color Doppler
criteria.
Results: Out of 48 patients eleven exhibited
characteristic Doppler imaging pattern highly specific
for placenta accreta and inccreta according to
preceding criteria , one patient had false positive color
Doppler imaging result, 5 patients underwent
caesarian hysterectomy , the remaining five were
treated conservatively by uterine artery ligation and
other conservative measures because of bleeding
from the lower uterine segment.
Conclusion Color Doppler sonography is highly
sensitive and
specific in the antenatal diagnosis of placenta previa
accreta .If a strong suspicion is found before delivery
,appropriate location and timing for delivery should be
considered ,to allow access to adequate surgical
personel and equipment ,preoperative blood
preparation to reduce morbidity and mortality.

Protective Effect of Cranberry Extract against Cisplatin-Induced Nephrotoxicity by Improving Oxidative Stress in Mice
...Show More Authors

Cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon) is a North American natural fruit. consumed as food and used for health promotion and prevention of various diseases. Aim. The present study was designed to evaluate the protective effect of cranberry fruit extract on nephrotoxicity induced by cisplatin in mice by measuring selected oxidative stress markers. Methods. Twenty-eight male albino mice were used in this study. The animals were divided into 4 groups as follows: Group I [Negative Control]/orally-administered normal saline for 7 successive days; Group II [Orally-administered cranberry fruit extract alone (200 mg/kg) for 7 successive days; Group III/Mice IP injection with cisplatin (12mg/kg) on day 7 and; Group IV [Orally-administered cr

Protective effect of cafestol against doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity in rats by activating the Nrf2 pathway
...Show More Authors

Doxorubicin (DOX) is an efficient antineoplastic agent with a broad antitumor spectrum; however, doxorubicin-associated cardiotoxic adverse effect through oxidative damage and apoptosis limits its clinical application. Cafestol (Caf) is a naturally occurring diterpene in unfiltered coffee with unique antioxidant, antimutagenic, and anti-inflammatory activities by activating the Nrf2 pathway. The present study aimed to investigate the potential chemoprotective effect of cafestol on DOX-induced cardiotoxicity in rats. Wistar albino rats of both sexes were administered cafestol (5 mg/kg/day) for 14 consecutive days by oral gavage alone or with doxorubicin which was injected as a single dose (15 mg/kg intraperitoneally at day 14) to i

HISTOGENESIS AND HISTOMORPHOMETRIC STUDY ON KIDNEY DISORDER BY LAMOTRIGINE IN POSTNATAL RAT
...Show More Authors

Background: Lamotrigine is a second generation Anti-epileptic drug; it is widely used for the treatment of epilepsy and bipolar disorder. Sufficient data is not available concerning its teratogenicity. Aim of the study: The study has been carried out to evaluate the effect of lamotrigine on Rat kidney development. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted on 10 pregnant Albino Rats (Rattus rattus) divided equally into two groups, control and experiment groups. Experiment group received lamotrigne 10mg/kg/day orally using naso-gastric tube from the first day of gestation until the first week after birth, while the control group received distilled water. Newborn kidneys were collected at day 7 postnatal and fixated in bouin’s solution,

The derivation of “Allah” names was denied due to a creed thoughts, because saying that “Allah” names is derived will not describe the eternal essence of “Allah”, and if it were derived this will make “Allah” is a Compound from his essence and Attributes.
The Al-Zaher people had recant the derivation of the agent nouns by preventing the derivation of “Allah” names because it will make “Allah” is a Compound from his essence and Attributes.

Furfural Degradation in Waste Water by Advanced Oxidation Process Using UV/H2O2
...Show More Authors

Furfural is one of the one of pollutants in refinery industrial wastewaters. In this study advanced oxidation process using UV/H2O2 was investigated for furfural degradation in synthetic wastewater. The results from the experimental work showed that the degradation of furfural decreases as its concentration increases, reaching 100% at 50mg/l furfural concentration and increasing the concentration of H2O2 from 250 to 500 mg/l increased furfural removal from 40 to 60%.The degradation of furfural reached 100% after 90 min exposure time using two UV lamps, where it reached 60% using one lamp after 240 min exposure time. The rate of furfural degradation k increased at the pH and initial concentratio
