Regeneration of Pain, Touch, Cold, and Warmth, sensations in split thickness human skin grafts in adults (A clinical study)
...Show More Authors

Back ground: Skin grafting is the most common form
of reconstructive surgery, and regeneration of
sensations in skin grafts is a complex process
influenced by many factors such as , the thickness of
the graft, the depth of the grafted bed, meshing of the
graft, the condition of the bed and the surrounding
area. So many studies performed on this subject, some
of them clinically based on subjective type of sensation
tests, and others histological to detect the presence of
nerve fibers in the grafted skin
Objectives: To detect return of sensations to split
thickness skin grafts by clinical methods.
Methods: From Oct. 1995 to Oct. 2010, a clinical
prospective study performed in Al wasity Hospital for
reconstructive surgery, Hilla teaching General
Hospital, and Al kindy teaching General Hospital on
recovery of sensations in human split thickness skin
grafts on 200 patients, 400 grafts. There were 120
male, 80 female patients, there ages ranged from20 -61
years with mean of 28 years. The regeneration of
sensation of pain, touch, cold, and warmth, was studied
with the usual clinical methods. We studied; different
graft thicknesses, depth of graft beds, meshing of the
grafts, grafts on early and late wound excisions
Results: in our study the regeneration of sensations
occurred in the following order; pain, touch, cold ,
warmth, and has been found to extend over a period of
16days to 3 months, and sensations improve with time
but never recover completely even after several years.
Conclusion: The recovery of sensation of grafted skin
is a complex process that is influenced by many
factors; some of them are related to the graft, to the
recipient bed, to the patient as a whole, and occurs if
the graft is applied on a sufficiently innervated bed.

The effectiveness of a rehabilitation program with aqueous media on the egree of pain and balance for those suffering from sacroiliitis in football players
...Show More Authors

Abstract in English  The aim of this study is to identify the effectiveness of rehabilitation exercises in conjunction with aquatic therapy for those suffering from sacroiliitis in football players. The researcher used the experimental approach, using the experimental design (pre-measurement, post-measurement). Similar to the objectives and procedures of the research, the researcher assumed the following: the existence of significant differences. Statistics between pre- and post-measurements in variables in favor of post-measurement for the following variables (degree of pain and level of balance). The experimental approach was used with a pre- and post-measurement design on one group of football players with sacroiliitis, nu

Assessment of some salivary enzymes levels in type 2 diabetic patients with chronic periodontitis (Clinical and biochemical study)
...Show More Authors

Background: Diabetic patients have been reported to be more susceptible to gingivitis and periodontitis than healthy subjects. Many intracellular enzymes like (alkaline phosphatase- (ALP), aspartate aminotransferase- (AST) and alanine aminotransferase- (ALT) that are released outside cells into the gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) and saliva after destruction of periodontal tissue during periodontitis. This study was conducted to determine the periodontal health status and the levels of salivary enzymes (ALP, AST and ALT) of the study and control groups and to correlate the levels of these enzymes with clinical periodontal parameters in each study group. Subjects, Materials and Methods: One hundred subjects were enrolled in the study, with a

Effect of Shotblocker on Venipuncture Pain among Blood Donors: A Randomized Controlled Trial
...Show More Authors

ABSTRACT Background: Blood donation is process obtaining, analyzing, preparing, and preserving blood and its many components essential for life-saving that enhances health and lowers mortality rates. Despite the fact that giving blood is frequently demonstrated to be a voluntary service, certain studies highlight a number of factors that affect blood donations such as Gender, past donor experiences including syncopal reactions, venipuncture pain, anxiety, and donor satisfaction, all have an impact on the decision to donate blood.in addition, one of the main reasons donors reject to donate blood is pain associated with venipuncture. Aim: Evaluate the effectiveness of shotblocker on pain during venipuncture in adult blood donors compared to

Abstract:

Investment in human capital of renewable energy can be relied upon to get to achieve the goals of development is important for Iraq through the intellectual community cards creative able to innovate and develop what is so is study the effect of human investment on economic growth through the adoption of the index of national income as a function of variables independent ( human capital, physical capital) and this is built on the premise that the relationship direct correlation between economic growth and human investment, and it can measure the return on human investment, which is an incentive to increase human capital through education and the development of the economy in general have shown th

Hematological Parameters in Liver Metastasis: A Comprehensive Clinical Evaluation for Early Detection in Iraqi Patients
...Show More Authors

Background: Liver metastasis significantly complicates cancer prognosis, yet easily accessible markers for its early detection and monitoring remain crucial. This study aimed to comprehensively evaluate key hematological parameters as potential indicators for liver metastasis in Iraqi patients. Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study comparing hematological profiles between 90 patients (presumably with liver metastasis) and 30 healthy controls. White Blood Cell (WBC) count, Lymphocyte percentage, Neutrophil percentage, and Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) were analyzed. Given non-normal data distributions (confirmed by the Shapiro-Wilk test), group comparisons were performed using the non-parametric Mann-Whitney U test.

Background: COVID-19 is an ongoing disease that caused, and still causes, many challenges for humanity. In fact, COVID-19 death cases reached more than 4.5 million by the end of August 2021, although an improvement in the medical treatments and pharmaceutical protocols was obtained, and many vaccines were released. Objective: To, statistically, analyze the data of COVID-19 patients at Alshifaa Healthcare Center (Baghdad, Iraq). Methods: In this work, a statistical analysis was conducted on data included the total number, positive cases, and negative cases of people tested for COVID-19 at the Alshifaa Healthcare Center/Baghdad for the period 1 September – 31 December 2020. The number of people who got the test was 1080, where 424 w

The nonlinear optical properties for polymeric (PMMA) doping with dye Rhodmine (R3Go) has been studied .The samples are prepared by normal polymerization method with concentrations of 5x10-5mol/l and a thickness of 272.5µm.

Plasma effect was studied on samples prepared before and after exposure to the Nd: YAG laser for three times 5, 10 and 15 minutes. Z-Scan technique is used to determine the nonlinear optical properties such as; refractive index (n2) and the coefficient of nonlinear absorption (β). It was found that the nonlinear properties is change by increasi

Antibacterial and therapeutic effects of vancomycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus bacteriocin (VRSAcin) in the treatment of VRSA skin infection in mice
...Show More Authors

Vancomycin Staphylococcus aureus (VRSA) is a strain of S. aureus that is considered the main cause of bacterial skin and soft tissue infections. It has acquired resistance to vancomycin and represents a therapeutic challenge. The current study aimed to compare the possible therapeutic effects of VRSA bacteriocin (VRSAcin) on the treatment of skin infection in mice with those of an antibiotic (linezolid). The results showed that of the fifty swabs obtained from human skin wounds. One isolate was selected for VRSAcin extraction depending on its antibiotic resistance using an antibiotic susceptibility test.An agar well diffusion test was used to determine bacteriocin’s antibacterial activity, as well as its a minimum inhibitory concentration
