Background: Humeral diaphyseal fracture usually
heals with closed methods but when nonunion
develops then it needs surgical intervention in the
form of plating and bone grafting, intramedulary
nailing (open or closed simple or interlocking nails)
and external fixators (circular or one plane fixator).
In our unit we treated non union humeral
diaphyseal fracture with plating and bone grafting
shortening of fracture ends up to 4 to 5cm when
needed. Methods: This study was conducted at
Orthopaedic Department of AL-Sadar General
Hospital from January 2004 till December2005 .
We included 20 cases with atrophic non-union in
12(60%) and hypertrophic non-union in 8 (40%)
patients. All atrophic non-union were treated with
plating, bone shortening by transverse osteotomy
and bone grafting, while hypertrophic non-union
were treated with decortications of non-union ends
and fixation with compression plates, with bone
grafting in old age. Follow up measures were based
on clinical (range of joints motion) and radiological
(healing) findings. Follow up was done for upto 6
months . Results: Out of 20 patients the age range
was 20- 60 years, 16 (80%)were male and 4(20%)
female. Right humerus involved in 15( 75 %)
while left humerus in 5( 25%) patients.
In12(60%) patients with atrophic non union bone
shortening by transverse cut osteotomy was done
while in remaining patients with hypertrophic nonunion
plating was done in 2( 10 %) cases and
plating with bone grafting in 6( 30%) patients.
Union was achieved in all patients after 16 to 20
weeks of surgery. In one patient ( 5 %) of 75 years
age with hypertrophic non-union implant was
loosened after 3 months of surgery. At that time
healing (Union) was evident on X-rays and humeral
brace was applied for further 3 months. Two
patients( 10 %) got neuropraxia of radial nerve
which resolved with in 3 months time. 2 patients
(10 %) developed shoulder stiffness which resolved
after exercise. Conclusion: In Non Union of
Humerus shortening by transverse osteotomy &
rigid fixation with plates give excellent results in
selected cases.
Research summary
The researcher in theological sects finds that the controversial issues between the owners of the sects are many, filled with the books of the sects, articles and creeds, and when examining these books it became clear to us that the dispute is related, some of it is related to the meaning and some of it is related to the words and it is many, explained to us by rhetorical terminology such as guidance and delegation, Interpretation and others, and part of it is what is called the verbal disagreement, and sometimes it is by using common possible expressions of truth and falsehood, as in the saying of the Kharijites, “The judgment is only for God,” and some of it is related to something outside th
A novel ligand, (E)-5-((2-hydroxy-4,6-dimethylphenyl)diazenyl)-2,3-dihydrophthalazine-1,4- dione, was synthesized through the reaction of 3,5-dimethylphenol with the diazonium salt of 5-amino-2,3-dihydrophthalazine-1,4-dione. The ligand underwent characterization through the utilization of diverse spectroscopic methods, including UV-Vis, FT-IR, 13C, and 1H-NMR, alongside Mass spectroscopy and micro elemental analysis (Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, and Oxygen). Metal chelates of transition metals were prepared and analyzed using elemental analysis, mass spectra, atomic absorption, UV-Vis, FT-IR spectral analysis, as well as conductivity and magnetic measurements. The investigation into the compounds’ nature was conducted by utilizing mole r

For this purpose, this experiment was carried out during the seasons 2019/2020 in the botanical garden of the Department of Biology, College of Science for Women, University of Baghdad, to study the effects of nitrogen and sulphur and their interaction on eight parameters reflecting the overall traits of vegetative growth, yield, and chlorophyll content of broccoli Brassica oleracea L. The results showed bunch of problems which could be organized descendingly, the scientific domain ranged between (2 - 2.42), the mean of the psychological domain was (2.85), the moral domain ranged between (2.2 – 2.28)m the problems of study earned (2.30), the material domain got (1.95), the medical and social domain obtained (1.925), and finally, the family domain received (1.887).
It has become familiar to see alchemy as a methodological approach that combines conscious, diverse, psychological, social, structural, and discrete approaches in the communications technology that Marshall McLuhan found to be able to extend our bodies and senses, The media discourse has a deep and superficial structure produced by the first, with its social, cultural and historical backgrounds, in a context that connects the image with the word, as the "meanings are made" - everywhere, as described by Jonathan ) In fashion, in the arts as a whole, and from its "signs" Our analysis of «meaning», in the media, and communication through advertising, magazines, newspapers, television, and the Internet. In the mouth, urine and vagina, respectively, of diabetic patients compared to (9.33, 2.33, 5.00) positive isolates in the mouth, urine and vagina, respectively, in the healthy. The rate of positive isolates in women was high in women with diabetes and healthy, and it reached 25.33 and 9.00 isolates, respectively, compared with the rate of isolates in men with Candida disease for diabetic patients and healthy people 14.67 and 2.0

Thin films of this alloy with different thicknesses (300,700)nm have been grown on glass substrates at room temperature under very low pressure (10-5)Torr with rate of deposition (1.7)nm/sec by thermal evaporation technique, after that these thin films have been heat treated under low pressure (10-2)Torr at (473,673)K for one hour. X-ray patterns showed that both CdSe alloy and thin films are polycrystalline and have the hexagonal structure with preferential orientation in the [100] and [002] direction respectively. The optical measurements indicated that CdSe thin films have allowed direct optical energy band gap, and it increases from (1.77- 1.84) eV and from

These infections appear to be rising particularly among pets and their owners, suggesting a possible bidirectional transmission between humans and dogs. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the potential link of mixed infections involving Klebsiella pneumoniae and Enterococcus spp. Buccal cavity samples were collected from humans (n = 25) and dogs (n = 25). Samples were initially enriched in tryptic soy broth and subsequently cultured on tryptic soy agar, MacConkey agar, and blood agar. All isolates were identified using the VITEK 2 system, and eight selec
