An electrochemical sensor based on manganese dioxide nanorodMnO2and Graphene oxide (GO) functionalized with 4-amino, 3-substituted 1H, 1, 2, 4 Triazole 5(4H) thion (FGO)/MnO2Nanocompositewas developed for voltammetric determination of Tetracycline (TET).The working electrode WE of SPCE was modified bya drop casting method. X-ray powder diffractometer (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and FT-IR were employed to characterize the synthesized FGO/MnO2. The determination of TET at the modified electrode was studied by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) in the phosphate buffer solution (PBS).TET show sharp increase in the oxidation peaks in the pH 2.Voltammetric characteristics of TET (Epa, Ipa) were estimated. From effect of scan rate, the average surface coverage (Γ) of TET on the surface of SPCE modified with FGO/MnO2 nanocomposite, the electron transfer coefficient and electron transfer constant rate ket was obtained as 10.56×1014 molecule cm-2, 0.5, and 10.41 cm.s-1respectively. Under the optimal conditions, the peak current shows linear relationship with concentration of Tetracycline (TET) ranges 1–9 μM with the detection limit of 0.2μ M. A phytoremediation experiment was carried out with kerosene as a model for total petroleum hydrocarbons. A constructed wetland of barley was exposed to kerosene pollutants at varying concentrations (1, 2, and 3% v/v) in a subsurface flow (SSF) system. After a period of 42 days of exposure, it was found that the average ability to eliminate kerosene ranged from 56.5% to 61.2%, with the highest removal obtained at a kerosene concentration of 1% v/v. This study aimed to investigate the effect of total suspended solids (TSS) on the performance of a continuously operated dual-chamber microbial fuel cell (MFC) proceeded by primary clarifier to treat actual potato chips processing wastewater. The system was also tested in the absence of the primary clarifier and the results demonstrated a significant effect of TSS on the polarization curve of the MFC which was obtained by operating the graphite anodic electrode against Ag/AgCl reference electrode. Evaluation of trace elements in Iraqi chewing gums are unavailable, particularly pollution of toxic elements, materials which change the values of PH in the Oral. Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) were successfully employed to determine the concentration of 7 trace elements (essentially toxic and nonessential) and the PH, in thirteen different brands of chewing gum generally consumed in Iraq. Combined wet and dry digestion procedures were applied. Two types of heated graphite tubes were used, coated and uncoated tubes treated with tungsten solution. Result showed that Cu, Al and Zn were at very high levels in almost all brands whereas Mn was found to be high in brands A and O only.
