Silicon nitride nanostructures were prepared by reactive sputtering technique using silicon targets with different types of electrical conductivity (n-type and p-type) and Ar:N2 gas mixing ratio of 70:30. The optical microscopy and spectroscopic characteristics of these films were determined in order to introduce the effect of target conductivity type on these characteristics. The results showed that using p-type silicon target would produce Si3N4 films with lower tendency to adsorb water vapor and other constituents of the atmospheric air, higher absorbance in the visible range 400-700nm, and lower variation in the energy band gap with film thickness than the Si3N4 films prepared from n-type silicon target.

The seasonal behavior of the light curve for selected star SS UMI and EXDRA during outburst cycle is studied. This behavior describes maximum temperature of outburst in dwarf nova. The raw data has been mathematically modeled by fitting Gaussian function based on the full width of the half maximum and the maximum value of the Gaussian. The results of this modeling describe the value of temperature of the dwarf novae star system leading to identify the type of elements that each dwarf nova consisted of.

Carbon fibre reinforced polymers are widely used to strengthen steel structural elements. These structural elements are normally subjected to static, dynamic and fatigue loadings during their life-time. A number of studies have focused on the characteristics of CFRP sheets bonded to steel members under static, dynamic and fatigue loadings. However, there is a gap in understanding the bonding behaviour between CFRP laminates and steel members under impact loading. This paper shows the effect of different load rates from quasi-static to 300 × 103 mm/min on this bond. In this work, substantial evidence was obtained for ligand reduction in cerium tetrakis acac complexes. Also, this ligand reduction of a negatively charged ligand proved to depend far less on the nature central metal than neutral ligands does. It is supposed that in Mz(acac)z complexes the charge is distributed evenly over the whole molecule. In this work these complexes were prepared and characterized by IR and CHN analysis to indicate the purities of these complexes. We explore the construct validity of scenario-based assessments of claim-evidence-reasoning (CER) and the structure of the CER construct with respect to a learning progression framework. We also seek to understand how middle school students progress.
