Evaluating Quality of Control Policies and Procedures for Banking Transactions Using the Non-application Gap Model to Enhance Financial Reporting Requirements Applied Study in an Iraqi Private Bank
...Show More Authors

The research aims to enhance the level of evaluation of the performance of banking transactions control policies and procedures. The research is based on the following hypothesis: efficient transactions control policies and procedures contribute enhancing financial reporting, by assessing non-application gap of those policies and procedures in a manner that helps to prevent, discover, and correct material misstatements. The researchers designed an examination list that includes the control policies and procedures related to the transactions, as a guide to the bank audit program prepared by the Federal Financial Supervision Bureau. The research methodology is designed to evaluate control policies and procedures of banking transactions, by adopting the non-application gap approach and its impact on the quality of financial reporting. Application and full documentation of control policies and procedures for eight transactions, discussed in this paper, have a positive reflection on the quality of the accounting information reported in the financial reports, while the reflection will be negative in case of non-application. Weaknesses of bank policies and procedures for eight transactions were analyzed, namely: fortified chamber, cashier, deposits, saving, current account, foreign currencies sale, loan transactions, and non-current assets. Importance of this paper is to explain the effect of deficiencies in fulfilling transactions control policies and procedures on financial reporting.

INACTIVATION OF SELECTED ANTIBIOTICS AGAINST ESCHERICHIA COLI BY VAMIN NUTRITIO- NAL SUPPLEMENTATION
...Show More Authors

Posible interference of vamin with the activity of several antibiotics against E. coli was evaluated in vitro. In MBS- glucose medium, significant growth delay was induced by 8 ug/ml of terramycin (oxytetracycline- polymyxin B) and bactrim (trimethoprim-sulphamethoxazole), and by 16 ug/ml of refocin, lincomycin, and chloramphenicol. Rapid growth inhibition was induced by 32 ug/ml of all an- tibiotic tested separately. Significant inactivation of up to 64 ug/ml of licomycin and bactrim was in- duced by the addition of vamin at a concentration of 1:20 v/v of the medium. This effect was found to be due to the presence of specific amino acids in vamin. Among them is valine, leucine, isoleucine tyrosine, tryptophan, phenylalanine, cysteine, meth

Free Vibration Analysis of Laminated Composite plates with General Elastic Boundary Supports
...Show More Authors

In this investigation, Rayleigh–Ritz method is used to calculate the natural frequencies of rectangular isotropic and laminated symmetric and anti-symmetric cross and angle ply composite plate with general elastic supports along its edges. Each of the admissible functions here is composed of a trigonometric function and an arbitrary continuous function that is introduced to ensure the sufficient smoothness of the so-called residual displacement function at the edges. Perhaps more importantly, this study has developed a general approach for deriving a complete set of admissible functions that can be applied to various boundary conditions. Several numerical examples are studied to demonstrate the accuracy and convergence of the current s

Analytical approximate solutions of random integro differential equations with laplace decomposition method
...Show More Authors

An efficient combination of Adomian Decomposition iterative technique coupled with Laplace transformation to solve non-linear Random Integro differential equation (NRIDE) is introduced in a novel way to get an accurate analytical solution. This technique is an elegant combination of theLaplace transform, and the Adomian polynomial. The suggested method will convert differential equations into iterative algebraic equations, thus reducing processing and analytical work. The technique solves the problem of calculating the Adomian polynomials. The method’s efficiency was investigated using some numerical instances, and the findings demonstrate that it is easier to use than many other numerical procedures. It has also been established that (LT

Effect of High Temperatures on Biological Performance ofTrogoderma granarium (Everts) (Coleoptera: Dermestidae)
...Show More Authors

The effect of three high temperatures for five exposure periods on the developments of larvae, pupae and adults of Trogoderma granarium (Everts) and their biological performance were investigated. The results revealed that the percent of mortality was increased as the temperature and the exposure period increased, e. g. exposing last instar larvae to 45°C for 6 hrs caused 100% death of this stage, while exposing adults (1-3) days old to the same temperature and exposure time resulted in that these adults did not able to survive more than 24 hrs.; in addition, the results showed that the ability of reproduction of adults was depended on the temperature, duration of exposure and the sex.

Fortification of Meat Burger with Protein Isolate Extracted from Local Pumpkin Seeds
...Show More Authors

ABSTRACT: Protein isolate was achieved from local peeled non soaked pumpkins seeds by using petroleum ether with protein percentage of 53.15%. Protein isolate was used in manufacturing meat burger with two substitution10 and 20%. The shrinkage percentage for burger diameter was decreased from 25.5 to 16.6%, the sample with 10% substitution was distinguished in water holding capacity (WHC) which was 54.52%. Sensitive evaluation for these samples showed that the burger with 10% substitution was similar to the control.

3D-shape formation of blood vessels based on computer aided design system
...Show More Authors

This paper proposes and tests a computerized approach for constructing a 3D model of blood vessels from angiogram images. The approach is divided into two steps, image features extraction and solid model formation. In the first step, image morphological operations and post-processing techniques are used for extracting geometrical entities from the angiogram image. These entities are the middle curve and outer edges of the blood vessel, which are then passed to a computer-aided graphical system for the second phase of processing. The system has embedded programming capabilities and pre-programmed libraries for automating a sequence of events that are exploited to create a solid model of the blood vessel. The gradient of the middle c

Optical properties of TiO2 thin films prepared by reactive d.c. magnetron sputtering
...Show More Authors

TiO2 thin films were deposited by reactive d.c magnetron sputtering method on a glass substrate with various ratio of gas flow (Oxygen /Argon) (50/50, 100/50 and 150/50) at substrate temperature 573K. It can be observe that the optical energy gap of TiO2 thin films dependent on the ratio of gas flow (oxygen/argon), it varies between (3.45eV-3.57eV) also it is seen that the optical constants (α, n, K, εr and εi ) has been varied with the change of the ratio of gas flow (Oxygen /Argon).
