Determinants of economic growth in Arab Countries: An Empirical Study compared with South-east Asia
...Show More Authors

The study addresses the problem of stagnation and declining economic growth rates in Arab countries since the eighties till today after the progress made by these countries in the sixties of the last century. The study reviews the economic growth picture in Arab countries since the sixties to 2007. It also presents the views of some Applied Studies in regard to the relationship between economic growth and its factors (represented mainly by physical and human capitals) in Arab countries in reference to the reasons which responsible for that relationship.

The  study addresses the impact of economic reform programs undertaken by  some of Arab countries on the economic growth rates, then conducts a statistical analysis on the growth factors effect in increasing the economic output per worker in both Arab  and South East Asia countries, for the period 1960-2005.

The study ends with a set of conclusions and recommendations on how to overcome the crisis experienced by the economic growth in Arab countries in general.

A New Method for the Isolation and Purification of Trigonelline as Hydrochloride from Trigonella foenum-graecum L.
...Show More Authors

Separation of Trigonelline, the major alkaloid in fenugreek seeds, is difficult because the extract of these seeds usually contains Trigonelline, choline, mucilage, and steroidal saponins, in addition to some other substances. This study amis to isolate the quaternary ammonium alkaloid (Trigonelline) and choline from fenugreek seeds (Trigonella-foenum graecum L.) which have similar physiochemical properties by modifying of the classical method. Seeds were defatted and then extracted with methanol. The presence of alkaloids was detected by using Mayer's and Dragendorff's reagents. In this work, trigonilline was isolated with traces of choline by subsequent processes of purification using analytical and preparative TLC techniques.

GREEN SYNTHESIS OF SILVER NANOPARTICLE USING GREEN TEA LEAVES EXTRACT FOR REMOVAL CIPROFLOXACIN (CIP) FROM AQUEOUS MEDIA
...Show More Authors

This study examines the removal of ciprofloxacin in an aqueous solution using green tea silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs). The synthesized Ag-NPs have been classified by the different techniques of SEM, AFM, BET, FTIR, and Zeta potential. Spherical nanoparticles with average sizes of 32 nm and a surface area of 1.2387m2/g are found to be silver nanoparticles. The results showed that the ciprofloxacin removal efficiency depends on the initial pH (2.5-10), CIP (2-15 mg/L), temperature (20-50°C), time (0-180 min), and Ag-NPs dosage (0.1-1g/L). Batch experiments revealed that the removal rate with ratio (1:1) (w/w) were 52%, and 79.8% of the 10 mg/L of CIP at 60, and 180 minutes, respectively with optimal pH=4. Kinetic models for adsorpti

Abstract<p>In this study, field results data were conducted, implemented in 64 biofilm reactors to analyses extract organic matter nutrients from wastewater through a laboratory level nutrient removal process, biofilm layer moving process using anaerobic aerobic units. The kinetic layer biofilm reactors were continuously operating in Turbo 4BIO for BOD COD with nitrogen phosphorous. The Barakia plant is designed to serve 200,000 resident works on biological treatment through merge two process (activated sludge process, moving bed bio reactio MBBR) with an average wastewater flow of 50,000 m3/day the data were collected annually from 2017-2020. Synthesis, Spectroscopic and Adsorption Studies of Cobalt (II) Complex for a ligand β-enaminone Derived from Sulfamethoxazole
...Show More Authors

This paper concerns is the preparation and characterization of a bidentate ligand [4-(5,5- dimethyl-3-oxocyclohex-1-enylamino)-N-(5-methylisoxazol-3-yl) benzene sulfonamide]. The ligand was prepared from fusing of sulfamethoxazole and dimedone at (140) ºC for half hour. The complex was prepared by refluxing the ligand with a bivalent cobalt ion using ethanol as a solvent. The prepared ligand and complex were identified using Spectroscopic methods. The proposed tetrahedral geometry around the metal ions studied were concluded from these measurements. Both molar ratio and continuous variation method were studied to determine metal to ligand ratio (M:L). The M to L ratio was found to be (1:1). The adsorption of cobalt complex was carried out

Performance evaluation of frequency division duplex (FDD) massive multiple input multiple output (MIMO) under different correlation models
...Show More Authors

Massive multiple-input multiple-output (massive-MIMO) is considered as the key technology to meet the huge demands of data rates in the future wireless communications networks. However, for massive-MIMO systems to realize their maximum potential gain, sufficiently accurate downlink (DL) channel state information (CSI) with low overhead to meet the short coherence time (CT) is required. Therefore, this article aims to overcome the technical challenge of DL CSI estimation in a frequency-division-duplex (FDD) massive-MIMO with short CT considering five different physical correlation models. To this end, the statistical structure of the massive-MIMO channel, which is captured by the physical correlation is exploited to find sufficiently

Forward and Reverse Osmosis Process for Recovery and Re-use of Water from Polluted Water by Phenol
...Show More Authors

The research aims to apply the novel forward osmosis (FO) process to recover pure water
from contaminated water. Phenol was used as organic substance in the feed solution, while sodium
chloride salt was used as draw solution. Membranes used in the FO process is the cellulose
triacetate (CTA) and polyamide (thin film composite (TFC)) membrane. Reverse osmosis process
was used to treatment the draw solution, the exterior from the forward osmosis process. In the FO
process the active layer of the membrane faces the feed solution and the porous support layer faces
the draw solution and this will show the effect of dilutive internal concentration polarization and
concentrative external concentration polarization.

The Islamic Bank of Al-Nahrain offers a formula for financing the purchase of real estate through a deferred sale contract, through Murabaha to the order to buy, and the payment of the price is in the form of instalments that include (the purchase price of the profit and the mutual agreement on the real estate). This research aims to show the reflection of real estate murabaha on the bank's investments, by measuring the effect of real estate murabaha on the profits achieved by the Islamic Bank of Al-Nahrain Bank. The growth of 'real estate murabaha' realized from the 'amounts granted by Bank X, in addition to analyzing the financial ratios of profitability indicators, including (return on deposits Y2) and for the years (2016 - 20

Utilizing the R.E.N.A.L Nephrometry Score to predict the Surgical Technique and Peri-operative Outcomes of Renal Masses
...Show More Authors

Background: despite the rise in the incidence of renal cell carcinoma attributed to availability of medical imaging, a considerable decline in mortality is an association. Morbidity-wise, the shift from radical nephrectomy to partial nephrectomy is the trend for now. Multiple scoring systems have been introduced over the past decades to help surgeons choose between radical and partial nephrectomy. One commonly used system is the RENAL nephrometry score that was first introduced by Kutikov and Uzzo in 2009.

Objective: to evaluate the role of RENAL nephrometry scoring system in predicting the surgical technique to use to resect renal masses and associated perioperative outcomes.
