The present study is an academic attempt to show how the threeUmayyad poets ; Jarir ,
Al-Farazdaq and Al-Akhtal have skillfully employed old conventions and traditions in their
poetry to serve a dual purpose of making their ideas striking , memorable and compelling and
of reaching eminence as poets.
The primary aim of the poets has been to amuse , convince and influence the readers or
listeners of their poetry . as it were, a mirror image of the social , religious and historical
beliefs , values and customs which prevailed throughout the ages before the emergence.

This research deals with the perceived and the imagined in the texts of Yusef Al-Sayegh, considering language as the most important source in literature and theatrical criticism, and given the importance of the subject, the researcher monitored many philosophical and psychological opinions and theories related to (the perceived and the imagined), and they were discussed and their compatibility with the Iraqi theatrical t As for the second chapter, where (the theoretical framework), it included two topics, and the first topic was about the concept of the perceived and the imagined, and the second topic was about Youssef Al-Sayegh and the structure of the theatrical text.

The article attempts to provide the theoretical fundamentals for the semiotic component of lacunae in a language. The definitions of the following notions have been represented: 1) lacunarity as a complex phenomenon that works in the modes of language, speech and speech behaviour; 2) lacuna as a gap, an empty space, which lacks something, which may be characteristic of a written work.
